It was a tiny chapel and very nice. The weather was great and we heard the history. The view looking below was beautiful

Highly recommend this place! We visit couple weeks ago and we enjoy the this place. The chapel is built by the cave that John received Revelations!!

Patmos was a stop on our Seabourn Quest cruise, "Greek Islands and Turkish Delights." The island of Patmos is designated a holy island due to the historical events that took place here over 1,900 years ago. We had a tour of the Chapel of St. Anne, which is built around the cave where John wrote the following:"I, John... was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and testimony of Jesus. On the Lord's Day I was in the spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, which said: 'Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'" He went on to write one of the most apocalyptic prophetic books in all of literature, authored from this location.It was wonderful to visit this cave, now enclosed with a small church that overlooks the Aegean Sea. Highly recommended visit.
