From Kardamyli's church, there is about a 10mn hike to the first Agia Sophia, then following the yellow & black marks, you may reach the second Agia Sophia is another 30 mn. Then following the white & red marks, you get to the village of Petrovouni and back to Kardamyli in 2 hours total. You need walking shoes & water, since there is nothing on the way.

This is quite a hike but worth it for the amazing views. Keep a careful eye out for the black and yellow paint markings at the high tomb. The church was closed when we got there. Wear proper shoes!

A charming little church at the end of an easy 45-minute walk. A good first stretch of the legs before exploring more rugged path in the Mani.

It was part of a wonderful holiday. An interesting walk up, alomg ancient paths which must be a millennium old.

And a beautiful bizantine little church perched high up and facing the deep blue sea. It can be reached by a little trail from "downton" Kardamili

Il sentiero, a tratti lastricato, è caratteristico. Bella vista dalla chiesa e da altri punti panoramici. Attenzione: alcuni sentieri indicati sulle mappe potrebbero non essere accessibili. Non ho potuto vedere l'interno dell'edificio religioso.

Belle promenade de 45 minutes entre les fleurs et les oliviers. Eglise hélas fermée, mais la promenade était très agréable. Prévoir de l'eau.

Une récompense après une montée par un beau sentier muletier à partir de Kardamyli (départ en face d'Atebank).Située sur une hauteur avec en toile de fond le mont Taygète elle est impressionante.Dommage qu'elle soit fermée.Néanmoins la contempler de l'extérieur est déjà une chance.Cette balade est à ne manquer sous aucun prétexte et est facile même pour les non habitués.

Das Spannende an dieser Kirche ist die Lage: sie krönt einen flachen Felskegel, wie er für diese Mani-Region typisch ist, und auf den meisten dieser Hügel findet man ähnliche Kirchlein. Leider sind sie meist verschlossen, die Schlüssel sind bei der Ephorie, d.h. in unerreichbarer Ferne. Jahrelanges Glubschen durch die Fenster verriet, dass schöne Fresken darin sind, aber wir konnten sie noch nie richtig anschauen. Aber hier ist auch der Weg das Ziel: ein kleiner Kalderimi-Pfad, der sich den Berg hinaufwindet, zuerst geht es durch Olivenhaine, am Wegrand stehen einige Johannisbrot-Bäume, Xylokérato oder Charrupiá genannt, und viele duftende Bergkräuter, Büsche und Ranken. Oben der Fels ist kahl, gekrönt von der reizenden kleinen Kirche.
