I first visited this lake four years ago and had to return. It is lovely, even on a dull February day!

This is one brilliant trip with National holidays superb views of the lakes. Brilliant scenery and a driver who takes you to all the lakes. Definately worth a visit.

The 18 km long Carinthian bath tub (water temperatures up to 27°C) is ideal for family vacations. From every spot along the lake you can visit one of the many sightseeing points, most of them included in discount Kärnten Card.

This is one of the most beautiful lakes that we saw on our recent trip. The water is crystal clear and we were lucky enough to strike a beautiful sunny day. We drove around the foreshore and saw that there were quite a few boats on the water as it was a weekend but unfortunately we had not allowed enough time for a cruise. Next time - definitely

We drove around the beautiful lake to catch a glimpse of the scenery after a long day a the exhibition venue. Boy were we glad we did - what a beautiful lake it was! Beautiful forests around it, would be wonderful to stay in one of the old hotels and take hikes or lake cruises.

We love the lake. The water quality is excellent and is my best outdoor swimming lake. Great place to spend time. Lots of places to eat drink and watch.

The very best way to see the lake is to take a cruise. We did the evening dinner cruise lasting 3 hours from 7 to 10 on the steam boat.Dinner was an excellent buffet. Tons of the stuff and lovely.A saxophonist did his bit when it got dark and my party of 40 old Motorcyclists were very happy. Some even danced but I just watched the steam engine plugging away. GREAT !

We loved the surroundings of the lake. We would have liked if the boats were more frequent. The towns on the lake were interesting

We did a 3 hour trip round d the lake having visited Mahlers composing hut in the woods. Great scenery and a nice Leisurely sail round he lake. We were fortunate with the weather on what sadly has been a very poor summer in Austria.

The lake is a decent size, is very clear and appeared to have sand on the bottom. There are several beautiful paths/walks around it. You can easily rent boats, paddle boosts, etc. The view from several of the lakeside restaurants is outstanding. The water seemed warm enough for swimming.

I live about 1 hour away and Ive never really visited the place before. The Lake boasts drinking quality water that is so clear you can see deep down. The lake area offers boat trips, a bathing beach and lots to do such as kayaking, segway tours, cycling, running etcThere are many restaurants dotted around this wonderful lakes and lots of lovely towns to visit. We simply had a wander, a bathe in the strandbad, then a trip up to see the Pyramidenkogel.I will come back for a weekend next time and take a boat trip. Everything seems very reasonably priced, so it won't kill your pocket. Its a beutiful place.

Relaxing, the best way to see the lake is by Kayak. Didn't like the fact that all of the land adjacent to the lake is privately owned individually and therefore you are restricted to the public (pay beaches), or the swanky hotels, to get to the lake.

Sometimes called the Carribean of the Alps - Worthersee is a large lake with a number of little villages surrounding the lake itself. A bit touristy but understandable as it is a great location for just wandering around. We had a great lunch at the Hotel Pruller outdoor terrace overlooking the lake. We later took a drive around the entire lake enjoying the sights. Nice for a day outing.

A cruise on the 17 km long Woerher See is a must if you are in the area. You can board at any of the many ports of call, then leave at a stop of your choice; you have roughly two hours to explore the town and then catch the next ship to continue the cruise. We stopped at Maria Woerth (the church is worth a visit, plus enjoy the beautiful gardens) and at Velden (casino, shops, a good lakeside cafe/restaurant, but it's a busy place). This allows you to explore some of the towns and get to know the area more intimately. It took about 8 hours. The ships are clean with plenty of seating space, and there is even table service if you want a snack or a drink. You can also make a reservation for breakfast for the first two sailings of the day (from Klagenfurt). I believe there are three breakfast choices and the prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly, and the captain does give a commentary on the sights as you pass them.

We were driving to Klagenfurt (which is not so big so can be visisted in 2 hours) and hen decided to drive around the lake and stop somewhere to eat. It was also the sugestion of a nice lady woking in the Klagenfurt Turist Info. The trip takes around 2 hours if you do not stop in every village - the lake is practically surounded by holiday areas and villages. The lake is surounded by mountains, the road goes quite close to the water. The road was good and not too crowded. We stoped in Maria Worth village - I think the oldest and most spectacular village, with an old church and a promotor on the lake.If you are around Klagefurt it is really worth the drive. you can also bike around it as it is not as big, yet then its probably a whole day trip.
