The building from the outside is beautiful and worth a walk past. I did not go inside as I didn't have the time, plus there was a heavy security presence.

e arrived at the beautiful Volgagrad Station to be met by our guide. Unfortunately we didn't get to see inside as it was closed for repair following the bombing. The locals seem to have taken the whole thing very personally and were relieved the central ceiling mural had not been damaged. It will be well worth a visit when repaired.

Though with a feel of smaller stations still very interesting to look at, especially from the inside. Very interesting decorations and paintings worth having a stop to take a photo on your way to the town. Some of the parts were closed when we were there and we were ushered through an alternative exit.

This is where you catch the train to go back to Moscow or wherever you are going to. It has been completely rebuilt in Stalin's neo-classic style with the usual heroic statues and friezes depicting scenes in the Battle and the usual workers and peasants etc etc. But what do you expect ??? The fighting was so intense here, the Station changed hands between defenders and attackers several times one day, that there was quite simply nothing left of the Station. But if you know its history then you are standing on 'hallowed ground'. The forecourt where once the 'Dancing Children Fountain' stood is now a buspark car park interchange thingy. Apart from that it is a typical Soviet era Vokzal (main railway station) - but it is built on 'hallowed ground'!!!

Trains, Trains, Trains. You are definitely in a different world here and I loved it. See as much as you can in Volgograd. I highly recommend a guided tour.

not very big,and nothing much for a train station. the place is a little dirty and not many seats, with bad ventilation. it isn't very tourist friendly too, especially with those who can't speak russian.

All that's best about the Soviet era. Where else would you have amazing ceiling paintings and statues in a small station? Make sure you visit, and take pictures when the security guards are looking the other way...

The Railway station is situated in the beautiful city center. But the building is quite ordinary for the railway stations in the big Russian cities.

I must say it will be one of the most iconic structure/attraction in Volgograd. Located just next to the alley of heroes. Check out the magnificent painting on the ceiling in the building which depicts the glory of socialism back in those soviet days. Kind of a busy spot as it serves as land transportation hub for the city. It will be beautifully lid up during the night.

К самому зданию претензий нет. Очень красивое и одно из главных зданий города. Сам вокзал как узловая станция очень удобен для отправления в различные города. На привокзальной площади также предложат автобусы в различные города. Не понравился вокзал тем, что во время нашего визита центральный вход был закрыт. Много полиции и военных, видимо после теракта. Проверяют через сканер сумки и каждый раз проходишь через металлодетектор, который обязательно что-то найдет. Если окажешься подозрительным, то могут засунуть в камеру для сканирования, что не очень приятно и отнимает время. Трудно было найти тачку для перевозки сумок, пришлось самому носить. Таксисты задирают цены, один раз попался. Лучше вызвать такси на заказ, гораздо дешевле.

Что-то есть в этом здании завораживающие. Вокзалы еще называют "воротами в город". Волгоградский вокзал один из немногих вокзалов в России привлекающий внимание туристов. Вокзал построен еще в советское время в стиле сталинских высоток, здание выглядит монументально, но не давит как все строения той же эпохи. Всегда приятно бывать на вокзале пусть даже проездом.

Увидеть нужно обязательно. Здание конечно чем-то походит на многие, построенные в пост военном СССР, вокзалы, но при этом очень величественно и находится в привлекательном ухоженном состоянии. Волгоградский вокзал - один из главных символов города и его визитная карточка)))

Очень уютное, красивое здание. На потолке размещена живопись советского периода. Имеются торговые автоматы с закусками и напитками.

Волгоград год назад пережил страшную трагедию. Теперь вокзал, пострадавший в тех страшных событиях, проходит реконструкцию. Но почему так долго?! И, судя по всему, восстанавливают красоту, усиливают безопасность, но УДОБСТВО??? Как были нереально неудобные, узкие двери в переходах, которые еле открываешь, пытаясь удержать чемодан в руках, так они и остались. А лестницы??? Это адское испытание! Невозможно сделать эскалаторы? Или нормальные пандусы? А вход/выход? Неужели нельзя развести пассажирские потоки по разным дверям? Вообще кто-нибудь думает о пассажирах?!

Красивое и милое место для многих пассажиров. Бывал на вокзале многократно, когда приезжал или уезжал из Волгограда, а также проездом. Сейчас же бывая возле вокзала, порой задумываюсь, что если бы в 2013 году теракт был бы пораньше, то мог бы и я там быть в тот момент. И почему-то щемит в груди, и жалко погибших.
