My husband and I had the chance to visit Estampa Winery while in Santa Cruz. We had a wonderful time with Felipe Berg who was our host for the wine tasting, he was very friendly and accommodating to us. We had nice conversation and really enjoyed the wines. Beautiful setting and very nice winery. The only drawback would be a more "open" feel, I don't think it's just Estampa, most wineries in this area require reservation, so when we pulled up, were were the only ones and had to be called in by security. That was a little weird to start the tasting, but well worth it once we were in.Thank you Felipe for a great time!

We went to the Sunset Happy Hour (on Friday and Saturday nights). We ordered the large appetizer. It was a generous portion. What was not a generous portion were the wine pours. They charge about one-third to one-fourth the price of a bottle for a cup of wine, but it was just barely a "taste" of wine. I suspect that they could get at least 8 or 10 pours from a bottle. In the end, the wine was fine, but we've had better in the Colchagua Valley.

We stopped there on the way from SantaCruz Vineyard. And let me say that SantaCruz Vineyard has much more to offer, but Estampa has something else that attracts you. The wine we tasted it was really good and the sommelier was really nice and polite guy. We had a nice chat about wines and differences between wines from different continents and so on..it was really entertaining:) Altho i am more used to and attracted to 'old style' kind of vineyards, so Estampa's building form the first view looked to me a bit too modern, but when you get to see inside and just to contemplate the moment in there for a little while - it's not too bad:)

The winery is right next to the Ruta del Vino (R-90). The bodega design of a ship cruising through the vineyards jumps at you at first glance. LOVED THE LA CRUZ RED WINE, the best so far. It's clean, inviting and seductive, elegant and sophisticated, powerful and velvety. We ended up buying 12 bottles of LaCruz 2009. We would have gotten a few more boxes, but that is the most we can bring back home with us. The wine they so artfully produce here is an Assemblage, they mix different types of grapes to bring out the very best of each one. A real craftsmanship. Congratulations. We will be back for some more fun. Thank you!

We stopped here to taste the wines since we were short on time and did not need reservations to visit this winery, unlike many of the wineries in Chile. It was near the end of the day and happily we turned out to be the only customers in the tasting room. Felipe poured us our tastings and regaled us with hilarious stories while we drank. He was very knowledgeable about wine and such a pleasure to talk to! From the start we felt like we were chatting with an old friend. If we make it back to Chilean wine country we will make sure to see Phillippe and Estampa again.

Just wanted to write a quick note to thank Felipe for the tour he gave me and my boyfriend. We were joined by another couple and family for the tasting. He made everyone feel very welcomed. The wine was great and the tour was informative.

Estampa was one of our favorite wineries in the Colchagua Valley. You can go to the wine bar for a tasting only. We did not have a reservation, but told the guard at the gate we were there to buy wine and he let us in. We were the only visitors in the wine bar where Felipe guided us through the wines. It is the only winery we found where you could choose which wines you wanted to taste and paid for each taste. We tasted their chardonnay, their gold range Carmenere (which is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) and their Syrah which is blended with Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec. We liked all of the wines, which retail for about $20). The tasting was about $20 for the three tastings we shared. Felipe speaks great English and knows a lot about wine and is a great conversationalist. We really enjoyed the experience. We were there for more than 1 hour. We wound up buying the Carmenere and also a bottle of their top wine LaCruz which is a blend of Carmenere, Cabernet and Syrah, although we were not able to taste it (around $60 U.S.). I would strongly recommend this tasting room to anyone who enjoys good quality wines.
