You need to walk and climb a little, but is worth the effort! Beatiful rock paths and several falls.

Salto el Sapo was our first excursion out of three (Salto El Sapo, Angel Fall and Kavac) The fall is beautiful and appropriate for all ages and levels of physical condition. The hiking before and after it are pleasant and enjoyable. Preferable wear dri fit pants Totally worth doing. It's the perfect hor's de ouvre for Canaima.

I signed up with the 4 day tour with Camp Jungly Rudy. I booked at the agency in Ciudad Bolivar airport. They are not the cheapest nor the most expensive tour to with to Canaima and the falls. The good thing about Jungly Rudy camp is that the camp is up the river from the Pueblo of Canaima, which means it is situated right by the riverbank (can only be reached by a 10 minute canoe ride). Really tranquille and beautiful. This of course means that if you want to have a beer during the night with other backpackers in Canaima Pueblo, this will be a bit difficult. The first day I was so fortunate to be the only guest up for the tour to Sapo angel and the 4 other falls nearby Canaima Pueblo. So I went alone with the my guide, who did a great job. We trekked for 4 hours between and behind the different waterfalls - with Sapo Angel be the climax of the day. Amazing! I wanted to jump of the waterfall but my guide instructed me not too, as he said there were rocks hidden underneath - just to dangerous. However, I did have a good swim from the riverbank all the way to the foot of Sapo Angel. Great swim in the extremely clean river water, which you can just drink straight from the river - amazing !!!All in all - this is probably on of the most spectacular places in the world and certainly in Venezuela - a MUST go to place

This a an experience not to be missed. Walking behind the falls, you can feel the power of the water, and it's amazing. Make sure to bring waterproof camera or wrap your phone in waterproof covers. I got some great videos and memories that will last a lifetime.

We visited these falls on our way to the Angel Falls, when you cross the water in a motorised boat the views of the falls are amazing, once you are on the other side of the water you climb up to walk behind the curtain of water, from there the power of the water is unbelievable but be prepared to get wet for this unforgettable experience

Really an amazing experience to walk underneath such a powerful waterfall, and then bathe in a pool below. Well recommended!

The visit to these falls provided an insight into the immense power that large volumes of water have. You hike to the side of the falls and then walk behind them. It is quite a unique experience as the water creates the coldest air blower I have ever felt.

The tour of Salto el Sapo and the surrounding waterfalls is great. It lasts about 3 hours in total and involves a boat ride, a bit of walking along trails and then under the waterfalls through the caverns beneath them. Expect to get very wet on this trip. The photo opportunities are fantastic so bring something to cover your camera with. Also, don't forget to bring some aquatic shoes or a pair of socks as the rocks are extremely slippery.

I went in February which is dry season and there wasn't enough water in the falls... Actually I called it "Tadpole Falls". I could go up the hill and take a bath in the lake so it was a nice experience anyway, but It's better if you go in rainy season.

We visited Salto el Sapo on the way to Angel Falls. This was a great additional excursion as you walk through the waterfall, which completely takes your breathe for a couple of seconds, the kids loved it!Nice stop off on a great trip to Angel Falls.

We visited the Falls on January 9 when river flows are down during the dry season, but still found the Falls worth the hike. Made a round trip walk behind the Falls and enjoyed the experience and views. Our tour to Sapo Falls also included a visit to the Heche Falls where the flow was much greater and a more impressive experience.

I think all the tour operators are offering the same. We used Venetur, left few minutes earlier and managed to be always ahead of the crowds and enjoyed the trip a lot.

This falls is just opposite to the waku lodge. First, we take a motorized canoe to the closest point to see this falls.Tones of water pouring down from the falls to the lagoon making a thunder sound and a misted scenery. The lagoon is covered with lot of white bubbles, like a snow carpet ,it is the minerals from the soil carried down by the pouring water.very beautiful indeed. Later on ,we docked nearby the falls and walk up to the top of the falls, the view is magnificent .Finally, we walked behind the sapo's thundering curtain of water. You will get all wet. Truely ,it's a unforgettable experience.
