Is a very large beach, quiet sea, yellow sands, restaurants and bars in every beach, I loved la siete( the seven), you can walk by the sea until the city, or cross to the fingers and visit Brava beach, more surge

This is the best beach in Uruguay that I was able to visit during my three week stay. I did a day-trip from Montivideo to Punta del Este which is about two and a half hours by bus from Tre Cruces Terminal in Montivideo. Once you arrive at the terminal in Punta del Este, Playa Mansa is just two- three blocks away. It is also nice walking along the boardwalk looking and the sea, finally seeing nice blue water instead of brown river water. There is much sand and you should bring a chair if you want to sunbathe comfortably or a towel if you wish to lay on the sand. Many people come to the beach to fish as well. I found Playa Mansa to be the highlight of my Uruguayan experience and highly recommend a trip here to all tourist and travelers visiting Uruguay. Happy Travels!!!!

Easy to park, nice sand, really quiet water... Beautiful place to sit and watch the sun "dive" into the ocean.

It is just ok, but nothing outstanding. Punta is amazing, but mainly because of its restaurants, nightlife and shops - not the beaches.

If you like a peacefull and calm water beach like a swimming pool you will love this. Very clean water, not cold, you can see few fishes.

This beach at parada 10 mansa side close to the city centre has a large wreck of a boat (present for 80 plus years ) just below the water surface close to the sea edge even at low tide when it may just show.. Its surface is like razors. Both I and my daughter have now been injured swimming and coming unknowingly in contact with it.The local Intendencia which is responsible for the beaches and safety of bathers has done nothing to remove this significant danger to tourists. When we arrived this year there was a sign at entry to the beach so covered in graffiti its message was unreadable and no sign on the beach at all. Two days later a small A4 sized notice saying ‘restos hundidos’ on a thin post in the sand in front of the danger area was erected during the day. It has a small triangular flapping red flag saying ‘peligro’ which is very hard to see from the sea. There is no wording to be seen from the sea at all.Even though my daughter and I knew of the rough position of the wreck we both found ourselves pushed by the sea drag onto it, getting significant cuts to the legs by this hidden danger which the Intendencia does nothing effectively to make safe. In contrast near the fancy La Huella restaurant further up the coast a similar wreck was removed by a charity after reports of several injured tourists. There is a guardavida in a hut close by who must, if he was looking, have been able to see myself and my daughter trying to swim away without knowing the best way to avoid further injury. We received no assistance. Approaching him with cuts to the legs he had no medication, bandage or clean lint and no advice. It was embarrassing and one felt one might have got better help in any other poor country without international tourism. The wreck could and should be removed and immediately at least a string of warning buoys could have been secured above it by chain and cement anchors, the graffiti ( which is unpleasantly ubiquitous) on the vague sign at entry to the beach should have been removed and a substantial large sign erected permanently nearby on the beach. Failing that I presume eventually there will be lasting injury and a compensation claim against the intendencia..

Several restaurants and bars along that seashore sideYou can walk along all Playa Mansa (if you bear summer sun) and enjoy Punta del Este's beautiful blue skyAt night, a happy hour and/or dinner and later a good evening walk with friendsos Summer season, usually busy near city center, but much quieter as you leave that area

I enjoyed the kiosk entering the sea, watching the birds, many benches to sit, the wooden lane, the plants. sometimes silence was disturbed by cars parked with very high sound

I think my title says it all. Grainy sand. No waves. Jellyfish. But for those with young children, the water is lots safer than Brava Beach.

This long broad beach stretches and stretches. On the interior side the wind and waves DO NOT pose a problem here. Food is available and umbrellas too. Beach merchants set up to sell their wares. For sunning or swimming this beach has a spot for both. Needless to say with these attributes the beach can get crowded.... but, then again that's what it is there for. Boardwalks and Piers compliment the frontage.

Its a lovely beach especially for small children. The waves are small and the beaches stretch endlessly. The beaches are also nice and clean with a beautiful scenic view towards the city.

A beautiful beach with a scenic view to the east towards Punta del Este and the west towards Punta Ballena. Wonderful for long walks or jogging to the east or the west. Run along the shore as the gentle waves lap over your feet. There are boardwalks along the way if you feel like a different route, and you can stop at the pier for food or coffee, or walk as far as the point. If the wind is a bit cooler than you can nestle into the grassy dunes. For a restorative tonic for your soul, set up your beach chair and have a picnic while you watch the sun set.
Ivonnesol
You can choose among more than 30 paradores from where you can see the sun set and the sky turning red, blue, dark blue, while you enjoy a drink or a cup of good coffee.

Lots of activity and so easy to gain entrance to any point of the beach - with free parking anywhere along the roadside - We enjoyed having some sangria at one of the many restaurants along the beach and just watching the water / the people / the dogs / the sun / the boats! Playa Mansa is known more as the Calm Beach - because the water - which looks like an ocean - is really a river - so no waves / less wind...

Not the best beach in the world by far... but I guess I am biased, being from the Caribbean. Its ok to kick back and relax. Gets really crowded.
