We were amazed and impressed by this small town, a real oasis in a very red landscape. Our trip to the visitors centre was very informative, friendly helpful staff and a full range of information about the area its history and its industry, Iron Ore mining.I was recommended the tour of the Iron ore mining operation and was absolutely spellbound over the size of the operation.Of course the visitors centre had a full range of merchandise, very well displayed. It is a very busy operation.

This is a small mining town, you can take a tour to see the actual mine at Tom Price, you will be amazed at how big it is.The iron ore is loaded onto trains that are 3 kms long.

We stopped here for a visit as would most travellers. The staff are well informed of roads and all the attractions, including everything within Karijini National Park.If you have a 4WD, I would recommend visiting Mt. Sheila for some of the most spectacular views around. To do this, you will need to sit and watch a 20 minute safery video within the Visitor Centre, to obtain your free pass. This is due to the fact you will be driving on the private roads of the mines.Thank you to the staff at Tom Price visitor centre for some of the best information you could receive.
