The park is a bit dated but still worth a visit. The admission price is probably a little high for what it is. There is a good selection of animals with quite a large Tasmanian devil population which was good to see. Quite a few interactive feeding exhibits which was fun.

While the kids enjoyed feeding the animals I was really disappointed with the overall state of the animal cages. The bird cages were by far the worst with very little, if any, foliage. Ponds were full of leaf litter starving the fish of Oxygen, the animal petting areas were covered in faeces, obviously never cleaned out. We decided to go there after reading positive reviews but were disappointed with the conditions for the animals.

Saw an advert in the tourist centre and decided to pay a visit. Entry fee $12.50 for adults and cheaper for kids as I remember which I thought was very reasonable. First thing that struck me was the enthusiasm of the staff - smiley, happy, helpful and glad to let you know about the zoo. Bought a bag of feed (for the animals) at the reception for $3. At this point I should point out that it was approx 40'c so very warm.On entering the first thing I saw was a member of staff showing a snake to a party and allowing them to get up close. This happens at regular intervals. There is a defined route that you can follow which is on the map you get on entry which also tells you which animals are in which enclosure. There are several of the large enclosures which you enter and wander around with the animals and birds and there are pieces of apple available to feed the birds with. Lots of Tasmanian Devils which are fascinating animals. There is a collection box for contributions towards research into a particularly nasty disease which is threatening to wipe them out (not thrust in your face) which is well worth a contribution. This attraction is absolutely great for kids, young and old, to get up and close with the animals.Do not expect to see big cats and large mammals as you will be disappointed. If you want a great half a day out, you will have a great time

A visit to Peel was such an exciting few hours for my 20 month old grandson. He was able to pat a kangaroo and stand in an aviary with his beloved parrots. He had just two weeks here with his great grandparents but Peel Zoo made and unforgettable few days very exciting. He still makes parrot noises and and talks about the kangaroos.

So nice to visit a zoo that is easy to walk around and you can actually see all the animals !! They are very obviously well loved.and cared for,This place really needs better advertising and the only disappointment is there are brochures right outside that offer discounts for entry but we only saw them afterwards so it was $25.00 each.

Great little zoo... Lots of opportunity to interact with the animals, and informative friendly staff.

We had a wonderful family visit to this zoo in April 2014. My 18 month old grand daughter enjoyed the animals and birds. It was a real surprise to find such a diverse collection of animals in a country town.

from memory I think there was upwards of 50 different animals to see, the warm welcome from the two parrots at the door was well worth it too!

Went to Peel Zoo over the weekend with friends (we are all young adults), after reading the reviews about how great it was for young children we were concerned that this might only be something for the young ones BUT IT WAS AMAZING!Highly recommended if you are an animal lover and want to get up close with australian native wildlife! All the animals are very tame and friendly, Bird aviary was our favourite! Our only criticism was that we got the impression when asking questions that some of the staff members didnt seem to know to much about the animals that they were dealing with.Other than that our day was very enjoyable and complete with a picnic near the murray river, we would definitely go back.

I was visiting Perth and was taken to this zoo by my hosts. It proved to be an interesting morning and a good introduction to the animals and birds of Australia, It was fun to be able to get up close to the female kangaroos and stroke them. There were also alpacas, deer and goats which were similarly available for feeding and petting - children will love this. The koala was adorable and the large walk through aviary was also fun which let us get up close to many beautiful birds. Sadly other birds were often in rather drab cages which didn't show them to full advantage and didn't seem always big enough. Also many of the mammals were asleep in hollow tree trunks in their cages and not very visible. It would have been even better if there had been informative notices about all the animals and birds, explaining for example their geographical spread, diet, habits (e.g. nocturnal), and so on. It was a nice touch that many of them had personal names, and the layout of the zoo was good, but the catering could be improved upon. We opted for our own pic nic by the river in Pinjarra. Worth a half day if you are in the area and not able to get to the big zoos like Adelaide which of course are in a different league.

We took grandchildren on a pupil free day. We were not sure what to expect having only been to zoos and looked at animals in cages. Oh how they loved it here, they were able to get in amongst animals and feed them. They were excited to see a Tasmanian Devil running about in his enclosure, never seen one before. It was great fun for them to spot the birds and owls.We took our own picnic and the children were not bombarded with unhealthy fried food. Picnic tables and chairs available but bring a little cloth for the table to put food on. Clean toilets and hand washing facilities with plenty of soap. Worth a trip. Easy to get there. Not for teens

This was our first visit out after moving to Perth for a working holiday. Our kids loved being able to send pictures back to the US of them feeding the kangaroos, emus, and parrots. The zoo itself is a bit small and limited in exhibits, but if you want lots time feeding animals, this is one of the best I have seen.

I have seen a lot of small zoos in my time this was one of the best! The staff were friendly the animals were friendly, I enjoyed seeing the Dingo's playing and happy. Being able to actually see so many of the animals out of their hiding places was great. The top of my list was the Aviary so many tame birds. The place to come for amateur photographers to get close up shots of them not as easily done in the wild. We nearly had the place to our selves during the week.

Having visited several international zoos, admittedly I have certain expectations of what zoos should be. Peel Zoo is perfect for young children as they can spend any amount of time in the feeding areas. As an adult, much less so. Personally I didn't like the electric fences with signs so obvious I had to, with a sense of irony, explain to the kids why the fence was necessary. Although the animals were docile, there were no keepers anywhere near the feeding areas. I hate to think what would happen if an animal suddenly went at a kid. All said, from a child's perspective, the kids had a wonderful time, so I guess that means mission accomplished.

Peel Zoo is perfect for little children as they can follow the footprints around the zoo to see all their favourite animals. The area where you can stroke and feed the kangaroos is perfect for children to see these wonderful animals close up. The talks are informative and friendly and are aimed so children can understand and learn lots of interesting facts. The peacocks roaming around were wonderful to look at and the whole atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. As it is a smaller zoo it is perfect for little legs and the children even managed to follow the footprints around twice! A wonderful family day out!
