We live half an hour from Bendigo, and visit Lake Weeroona as a special treat. There are loads of spots to have a picnic. The lawns are very well kept. There is food vans there, but also, the Boardwalk Cafe that overlooks the lake is very good. The walk around the lake is easy, and it makes a sweet run if you've got the energy. It's sort of like the little brother to Lake Albert in Melbourne (without the grand prix). For those of you wanting to stay in Bendigo, there are 3 hotels across the road which are all pretty good. The lake is about 1.8km from the centre of Bendigo, and there is easy and free parking around the lake. This is a must go to spot if you need to chill out and relax. And the locals are friendly too.

i found it small and a bit boring akin to lake albert in melbourne, but good place for joggers and kayaks.

Lovely place to walk around or just kick off the shoes and relax on the grass, and watch the ducks and birds.

This lake whist small in volume is absolutely large on its vibe. There are heaps of birds to feed and admire. An amazing secure and safe large play area for the kids. Coffee and hotdogs as well, but the main feature is its natural beauty. Don't forget the free BBQ and picnic areas.

Or a walk or play break for kids. Shade and toilets and refreshments available nearby. Put the dog on a lead and go for a walk to stretch if you're driving through Bendigo

Plenty of car parks.bitumen walkways. plenty of seats, fantastic safe playground and swings, , very close to town, walking distance from hospital, and close to food shops with "the Boardwalk" restaurant in the grounds. Great place for meeting people and having a B.B.Q.

Lake Weeroona is a great attraction for all the family. It has a walking/ bike trail for families, a place for doggy dates,an excellent playground, a pop up coffee van as well as a restaurant/ cafe with lots of good choices for a big breakfast or relaxing lunch. It also has covered picnic areas for family gatherings and is the setting for a variety of community events All of this is set amongst shady old trees on the banks of the lake.

Lovely spot for an early morning or evening walk. The play ground is ideal for the little tackers and the walking track is dog friendy...on a lead naturally.

Lake Weeroona and its surrounding parklands have a lot to offer. A lap of the lake is almost 1.5km. It has the canoe/kayak club at one end, the Boardwalk café at the other and playgrounds, free gas BBQs with covered tables, toilets and usually a coffee van and donut van at the side. Great for saunters, playing with kids etc. Today, the Australia Day event had a great buzz and good music in different parts of the park. There were lots of activities on (dragon boats) and around the lake. Classic cars, wood-turning, rock'n'roll music & dancing, pipe band, petting farm, various foods etc. Check an event day or just just use the space.

Lake Weeroona is very close to the CBD and is one of the stops along the talking tram line. This is a lovely spot to have a picnic, walk, play or relax. There are lawns, BBQ's , playground, walking tracks and a cafe onsite (the boardwalk bendigo). You can watch the wildlife on the lake (a variety or birds) or people paddling their canoes. The views from many vantage spots are lovely and there are many cooling, shady spots on a hot sunny day.
