My overall experience at McGlashan's was a positive one. Great atmosphere, lots to see and giant chess to play. Only complaint would have to be that the food platters had way to much cheese on them.

I have been to this winery twice. The first for a wedding and the second for a hen's party stop! On both occasions I have found the winery beautiful, the staff friendly and the wines good. My one big issue on both visits though is the food.. The food, although tasty, the is little for what has been paid and we are always left hungry when leaving. At the hen's party we stopped there for lunch and had a a few platters between 40 of us. We ran out of crackers and bread to actually be able to finish a the cheese and dips on the platters and then the fruit platters where served too late, one so we could get something off it and the other just as we were leaving which was in the sun so all would have been wasted. The wedding, they served gorgeous platters but for the amount of people and wine being consumed and bought this should have been double. It's times I left hungry, lucky on the hen's even we had chips on the bus and after the wedding had pizzas ready to be cooked at home. The platters were however tasty but not value for money - I am thankful I didn't pay either visit (well didn't pay directly on either Occassion).

Called in late on a Sunday afternoon for a couple of glasses of wine and found the place busy with couples and families. Seems a good place to take children as there is plenty of space to run around while the parents eat and drink. We ordered two glasses of Pino Grigio and were told they had run out and we thought this was a bit strange for a winery. Instead my wife had the Rose, very nice and I tried the Chardonnay that was not to bad although I am not a Chardonnay drinker. The platters looked good although they seemed a little small for the price but then we will have to return one day to try them.Inside is a bit of a man cave however out side you have tables and a great view over the vineyards.Recommend you try it.

McGlashan's winery is a great place to just relax and enjoy the local platters and the magnificent wine. Not only is it a great place to while away an afternoon but I have also celebrated my 50th birthday there not so long ago and my daughter has chosen the venue to celebrate her 21st. This winery with its great atmosphere and the fantastic service is a great spot to celebrate something special. Jan and Russell go out of their way to make sure your event is superb and the food is excellent. Nothing is ever too much for them. If you are around the Bellarine and are looking for a relaxed place and good wine, this winery is certainly worth checking out.

We went to McGlashan's winery today for lunch, the Gourmet platter was excellent, service was fast and attentive, relaxed atmosphere in the cellar door building, plus the bonus of outstanding wines most over 90 points in Halidays guide.without doubt this one of Geelong regions best kept secrets

Was disappointed with this winery. Although the Pinot Grigio was delicious, the food was not. Overpriced and poor quality. The best part about our time at this winery were the two lovely dogs that hung around us. They were happy to eat the food that we weren't! They enjoyed our platter immensely!!

The setting was perfect !But McGlashan's missed the mark . The decor looked like a man cave and some middle aged mans idea of heaven. No ambience at all. The platters over priced supermarket fare, we have come to expect fresh local produce at these types of wineries and it was cheap defrosted seafood with cheap sliced Coles meats and boring cheeses. Such a shame as it felt as though it had so much potential. A grey army arrived whilst we were there and they seemed very happy perhaps it is best suited to a much much older crowd. Service was non existent and we quickly retreated to the more professional competitor near by. Disappointing

Simple yet substantial. I love the wines here especially their Rose. The food platters and value for money and perfect when have a wine. In winter the fire place offers warmth and in summer the outdoor spaces are ideal for the kids.

Eight of us recently met at McGlashans mid afternoon for a school friend catchup. We enjoyed a couple of platters and a few wines. The shiraz was excellent. All in all it was a pleasant afternoon in a lovely environment.

Lovely setting with plenty of activities for the children to amuse themselves with while parents taste wine or enjoy some food.Platters seemed expensive for the amount of food.Food was tasty, loved the Chardonnay and Pinot noir.

Russell and Jan McGlashan are good hosts and serve up the best of food and wines on the Bellarine. Russell is an abalone diver as well as a vigneron, and he knows both crafts equally well. The winery is full of sporting memorabilia, mainly bought by Russ at charity auctions, and heaps of old motoring memorabilia. If you like cars you need to visit.

I visited the cellar door with 2 friends for lunch. The gourmet grazing platter we had was a perfect size for us to share and very tasty with a great selection of food. Other platters we saw delivered to tables also looked fantastic. We were concerned about drinking and driving so were only going to purchase a glass of wine each. The suggestion was made that if we wanted to buy a bottle we could take whatever we didn't finish home with us. Great suggestion - although we sat chatting for such a long time we were able to finish the bottle and still drive. Relaxed atmosphere with lots of things to look at including a giant chess set outside. A photographers delight. Will definitely be back again to share this hidden treasure. The wines were good and I purchased a couple of bottles to take home as well.
