Extremely helpful staff. We were given useful information based on our preference we gave the staff member. All her suggestions were fabulous and met the type of attractions we like to see.

Can you imagine a more useful place than the local VIC? You walk in and the volunteer staff are there to help you with a wealth of information. When we moved to this region three years ago I found myself in here all the time as I explored the area for places to walk where to recommend friends stay which wineries were open on which days, where to eat etc. The staff are mostly volunteers which is incredible and puts them on a par with the CFA in my book - unsung heros.Iv'e been to other region's VICs and left feeling disappointed - not so here.

We arrived late afternoon, looking for accommodation for that night plus one. We were half-expecting a 'sorry can't help you at this late hour' response, but not a bit of it. The staff got straight on the computer and identified two or three properties with available rooms, and booked us into our choice. They also set us up with a wine tour for the next day. Thank you! The information centre occupies the old Healesville court house, which is worth looking at in its own right.

All of the visitor centers around Australia seem to have really good maps. Get their map of the wineries, well worth the quick stop.

Looking for maps to Marysville, the Dandenongs, etc. This info center is WELL STOCKED for tourist information and they provided all in a delightful fashion. Perhaps since we were there towards the end of winter they hadn't been pressured but they were very nice and had a plethora of information, suggestions, guided tour info, etc.

The staff who attended to us was very friendly and knowledgeable. She took the time to understand what we were interested in and how much time we had and basically planned our schedule for us! Without her help, we would most probably not have enjoyed ourselves in Yarra Valley so much!

Luckily I made a trip to the visitor centre before embarking on my Yarra Valley roadtrip. The staff was knowledgeable and provided me with a map and route with places of interest, customized to what I wanted to see/experience.
