We are terribly disappointed and disillusioned by your review. Olive Hills Estate winery is a heritage listed mansion and winery in the beautiful Rutherglen region. The heritage listed 1886 winery building was renovated and restored to accommodate our "rustic" cellar door operation. During the wedding season, Olive Hills Estate is utilised as a wedding ceremony and reception centre. To respond to your critical comments; (a) uneven slashed grass... Olive Hills is a working vineyard and farm situated on 500 acres. The majority of the designated "wedding area" was beautifully mowed and slashed. (b) carpet from the house... yes, the original and authentic early 1900's carpet runner from the 1886 Olive Hills mansion was used as the wedding runner. (c) unused tables in the winery... as a cocktail wedding reception, none of the tables were required to be used for the evening. We decided to offer a number of tables and chairs for the quests to use for the evening and the bridal party were delighted with our decision. (d) several missing globes.... their are three very large chandeliers hanging in the winery which hold a total of 48 globes. On inspection the next morning, we identified ONE of the forty eight not present! (e) the couches being dirty... the couches were all steam cleaned the week prior to the wedding. Maybe you accidentally soiled your light colored pants on the canapes served throughout the evening. (f) farm cats roaming in the winery... we have one cat, which normally keeps an eye on the winery. The cat did sneek in later in the evening and I'm sure you can recall that the cat was quickly retrieved and placed outside. (g) outdoor heaters not working.... yes, they are outside heaters which we kindly rolled inside for a number of the quests to use as the evening became quiet cool. And we distinctly remember, your husband and yourself, who sat on your own all evening at the rear of the building, were the first to ask for a heater! And yours did work. Unfortunately the fourth heater had a malfunction and did not work. The heaters are not normally utilised inside and were not planned to be used on the evening. Hopefully, we have responded adequately to your hurtful and extremely critical comments and we would like to conclude my mentioning that we were offered superb compliments from the bridal party and many other quests at the wedding you attended.

Even bigger than Warrabilla reds- a monster red par excellence but still with beautiful features that will mature over time. Same with their shiraz. Not for the faint hearted or chardonnay drinkers!

On a damp and misty May day as one of a group of 35 food and wine enthusiasts, I enjoyed the warm atmosphere of this huge glass fronted, converted hay shed. Outside is a massive wood fired oven that, I am sure, would hold a vealer calf. Everything is huge here, the house, the wine, the hospitality, even the friendly dogs. After a short talk from Ross about his wine background / wine making style plus a tasting of his wines, we were treated to a roast dinner all cooked in the outdoor oven. Just delicious! Deserts to die for.A great place for an outing for a group of friends. Check out their website and call Kay.

We stopped at this vineyard on a whim, and it proved to be the find of the day. Beautiful house and grounds with tastings in a huge glass fronted shed cum banquet room. The winemaker, Ross, was friendly and engaging, and the wines were excellent! There was a small selection of 2002-2009 durifs and shirazes, and at excellent prices, especially considering the quality. We bought two dozen, and are considering going back for more!

A totally beautiful setting. The winemaker was on 'duty' at the tasting desk, and we were fortunate to be the only customers at the time so were able to ask many questions about the building we were in and the 'folklore' of the estate. Great wine, great atmosphere and a very friendly, docile (ok, chubby and lazy and waiting for a pat!) labrador. Looked like a perfect setting for a wedding or large private function.

We were the only people there at the time, the owner greeted us and was good at telling us what kind of wines we might like. The dogs were really friendly & they loved a good belly rub. The views were absolutely stunning.
