It is so nice to be able to visit here as it is peaceful and relaxing, all you hear are the birds. Great place to de-stress from a working week. Open form 10am-5pm

Gorgeous beautiful gardens. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. Free entry, really friendly staff. Spent approx 4 hours walking around. Massive area.

Visited this garden in January this year with my mum and sister who were visiting from India. Although the Rhodendrons have all flowered there were colourful hydrangeas flowering. The garden is huge but good for relaxing walk looking at all the different variety of plants and various flowers. Good place to have a picnic on a clear sunny day. But watch out for the kookaburras who have become so habituated to humans being around that they just come around you and your food. A wonderful colourful garden and a must see if and when visiting melbourne.

This is a very special garden to visit. It receives little publicity in Australia, although there seem to be overseas interest. I have been at 3 very different times of year, and always lovely. Wonderful in early Spring when camellias are flowering, but even in January the blue and white hydrangeas are stunning. We also met a wonderful echidna (spiny ant eater, which is rarely seen) and a number of kookaburras. Allow at least 1 to 1.5 hours. There are very limited catering facilities at the moment, but we had a lovely lunch at Sassafrass in a French cafe, which was wonderful. Even husband who is not into gardens was charmed by this garden.

Walking through the gardens in spring was like a garden experience I have never had before. the colour, texture, aroma, views everything was mind blowing. If I sound a bit over the top about this I really am. I can only strongly recommend you go and enjoy the serenity with a picnic. I think it would be amazing all seasons. Enjoy!

This place is heaven on earth with ample village shops ana coffee placesIts a must to visit as it has so much to do with a mountain peak as well

I visited the gardens in December and sadly most of the flowers had already blossomed. A month or so earlier they were probably magnificent so next year we'll go earlier. It's a lovely walk with some moderate hills but it's all surfaced so no bush bashing is required.

Beautiful, just beautiful. A must see fro anyone visiting!I cannot believe there is no admission costs to keep such a large, beautiful garden! We made sure to buy lots of these beautiful plants at the shop. Hopefully it goes back to parks Victoria!

We enjoyed our morning walk there. At the entrance of the garden, you can find some chalks on a table. You can use the chalks to draw on the ground. I thought that was fun. We managed to see 3 Lyrebirds in the garden. Although not at their prettiest, we are happy to spot them. There are not friendly and will run away when they see you, so you have to really keep very quiet to watch them . They love to dig the ground. We love the tall mountain ash trees , flowers and fresh air.

This is a place I'd never heard of until a friend took me there, and I was highly impressed. It is a big piece of hilly land given over to rhododendrons of every known variety, some trees, some bushes. There is also a Japanese section. We walked the circuit, taking in the views and exploring down paths and around water features. We also took a ride in the bus. Walking is ideal as you really get the feel of being in this beautiful environment, but the bus ride is fine if you can't walk far. An afternoon outdoor wedding reception was taking place at the edge of the Gardens when we visited; a suitable venue for a special occasion. And we had a useful conversation in the gift store about the best months to visit. (We had not picked the best time of the year, and agreed we'd come back.)

There is so much to see and like here and always something new and different. So many species of plants not just rhododendrons. I would recommend taking a picnic to enjoy while you sit and enjoy one of the water features.

Free entry to these beautiful gardens. Acres to explore. We even saw lyrebirds here in the fern gully by the creek
