Visited Brown Brothers Winery on a Saturday afternoon, not a big crowd so we could taste the wines on offer in our own time. The area of the cellar door is a real old fashioned building, very winery like.Thoroughly enjoyed our time here, purchased several wines, would recommend .

This location seemed to me to be a great place to spend an afternoon with great facilities provided to relax - seating and shaded areas. Great wine tasting provided.

On driving through the King Valley wine region we chose the Browns Brothers winery. Our choice was based on convenience for a lunch stop and probability of tasting some fine wines. We opted to eat at the Epicurean which offered a variety of outside eating areas. These included bean bags, tables and lawn area under tree cover and umbrellas. Food chosen was of good quality and wine reasonably priced at $8.00/glass. Unfortunately the lady who took our order at the cash register was rather rude and abrupt. Not sure whether she has become jaded in the job but her level of service detracted from the experience. We were not disappointed with the many wines tasted but were not however impressed with the service during the wine tasting. It was particularly disjointed with many of the staff showing little interest in us as a customer. The whole tasting process was performed without passion or interest in the customer with the exception of one mature age lady. This winery has the advantage of having a good product in their wines but seems to be taking their customers for granted. My next visit to this area will be to a smaller winery.

This is a great way to spend some time tasting at the cellar door and then popping in for lunch at the restaurant. The reds in the Patricia range are particularly good and the Durif and desert Riesling is a favourite! We have been for lunch many times and always enjoy the multi course options. The food is well presented and is always engineered to have excellent flavours and textures. We will keep coming back, keep up the great work BB!

We enjoyed a quick visit to purchase some wine. What a lovely vineyard! Definitely will come back to explore further. Service was excellent and make sure you join their club to receive 10% discount.

I last visited Brown Brothers at Milawa in 1988 so it certainly looked different on my recent visit. I have always found over the years that you can’t go wrong with any Brown Brothers wine so it was very enjoyable tasting some of the wines at the cellar door. However, we also experienced a change of staff in the middle of our wine tasting so hopefully the management can rectify this issue soon (see Raylene’s review dated 17 February 2015). We spent $400-500 on wine between 2 people and it did make us feel a little insignificant when the staff member excused themselves and wandered off, plus we had to explain to the new staff member what wines we had already tasted and enjoyed, etc. It is the only cellar door where I have ever experienced this issue (and I’ve been to quite a few cellar doors over the years) and it certainly shouldn’t be necessary, irrespective of OH&S requirements. Furthermore, we signed up as Epicurean members and received a 10% discount but it is interesting to note that most of the wines we purchased are still cheaper at our local Dan Murphys… I guess we were paying for the cellar door experience. The grounds are lovely and well maintained and, after our wine tasting, we enjoyed a coffee and our BYO lunch sitting under the beautiful trees on a summer afternoon. There weren't many people around on a hot Friday afternoon but I can imagine that it would be a great place to hang out for an afternoon on weekends. Lovely outdoor seating areas, bean bags under the trees and picnic blankets available. Overall, a lovely place to visit and spend some time wine tasting and relaxing on the grounds.

A friend suggested this place for its amazing food.. She left out how beautiful it is, as soon as we pulled in I was completely blown away and fell in love with every part of this stunning vineyard. Started off in 'cellar door' tasting and buying wines. Had a look around the grounds then sat in a bean bag waiting for our lunch booking still overwhelmed with the beauty of this place! During lunch we had excellent service and every dish that was brought out I gasp at, all the flavours in each dish worked perfectly with each other Already can't wait to go back and even hoping to have my wedding here one day

What a lovely spot to spend an afternoon drinking wine outside on a bean bag and watching the world go bye.

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted you had such an enjoyable visit. We do try to allow our Cellar Door staff to stay at the counter until the completion of a tasting, however, sometimes due the Occupational Health & Safety provisions in our employment agreements breaks must be taken within a certain time period. We will endeavour to make handovers more effective. We hope you visit again soon.Darren VincentGuest Services Manager

We visit this winery when ever we travel to Rutherglen/King Valley areas. The renovations of the older buildings are complete and the gardens are beautiful. Plenty of parking and a great on-site restaurant. We prefer to try the wines which are only available at the cellar door and we were not disappointed with the 2010 Sparkling Pinot Meunier.

Can't talk highly enough about BB. It has an awesome atmosphere where you can just spend the whole day there with their casual bean bags and picnic rugs. Free wine tasting. Great food! Do yourself a favour and go!

Very relaxed atmosphere lost of trees to sit under and enjoy a drink or 2 and a lovely place to eat in the open area or undercover lots of seating - bean bags and chairs scattered around the grounds

Just returned from the most fabulous weekend at Milawa. Brown Brothers Winery has been on the bucket list for a while and did not disappoint! We had a three course meal with matching wines and then relaxed in the beanbags for a couple of hours whilst enjoying more wine. Bec and the staff were so attentive. We also did the tour with Tony, who was very knowledgable and ended that with more wine and a cheese platter (that was the next day!) Will certainly be making this an annual trip!!

What wonderfully kept grounds the winery is situated amongst. It's an oasis in the dry summer months. The tasting was a pleasant experience. Trying wines that were new and others I'd not purchased before. Lovely outdoor area and dining area. A real highlight of my trip. Highly recommend.
