It was a family members birthday and we all decided to have a go at the thunderbird park tree top challenge on the 15/3/15. It was fun and amusing but some of the staff were extremely rude in the way they spoke to the guests including myself. Many people required help during the practice session after the video. The girl guiding us was very rude. She made us feel uncomfortable. She was unaprochable and very snappy. When we started the tree top challenge a staff member was not willing to help and constantly rolled their eyes when we asked questions. I will not be returning to thunderbird park and neither will my family.

We really enjoyed staying at Thunderbird Park and were impressed with the facilities around the main reception. The staff were polite and extra helpful. One member of staff even ducked back into the shop after closing time so we could buy some marshmallows, and got chef to make two hot chocolates for our little people! (What good is camping without marshmallows and hot chocolate around the fire!?!) When we found out about the buffet breakfast we opted for a bit of a treat for our first morning and it was a great spread with lots of options. Nice to see some Gluten free options, although luckily for us, none of our family have that to worry about. The food was plentiful, tasty and regularly topped up. The staff serving us were patient and there were no 'looks' as our two young kids were doing everything that young kids do e.g. Making a mess and wandering around the other tables. We camped at site 606 so we could be near to the water although didn't realise that the bank was so high from the water. That made me feel a little edgy about our kids being at this site but it was fine. The actual site was a bit rocky underfoot though. We pitched our tent on the grass but where we were then able to put our camping table for meals was a little uncomfortable underfoot. My husband and son used the showers in the men's amenities block using the $2 token and said they had a good, hot shower with plenty of time for them both to get showered in the 5 minutes allocated. My daughter and I showered but didn't have such a good experience. The cubicle we used (the one on the left) had the shower jutting out of the wall and this meant that the spray from the water went directly into my face and couldn't be angled away. The spray was also a bit misty rather than a good stream of water. I think a new shower head in that cubicle would be great as trying to shower my 2 year old was pretty tricky and trying to wash her hair would've been really hard. There was also nowhere in the cubicle to put our dry clothes and toiletry bag. I had to leave them on the side near the basins. If a seat was built in it would make drying kids in there so much easier and keep our clothes dry. I was also surprised that there were only two toilets and two showers for the camp site. I expected there to be more amenities for the size of the site, however, saying this, we never had to wait for the toilets or the showers when we were there.Having a camp kitchen would have been a nice thing too. Unfortunately, during our stay we didn't see any kids of around our kids ages. Maybe 6 years older or so, but none that our children felt confident enough to approach (our kids will talk your ear off and aren't shy!) We've found in the past that when there was a camp kitchen, people would gather around that spot and the kids would mingle and get to play with each other, leaving the parents time to clean up the dishes and to relax a bit more. We went to Jondaryn Woolshed recently and they had a wonderful camp kitchen with a big open fire pit in the centre that anyone could start and a grassy area within eye-shot for the kids to play on. A great idea. In the evening my husband was a bit surprised to hear that a lot of noise was seemingly coming from the house towards the main reception. Apparently he got a bit of an eyeful of a lovely young lady in a t-shirt and a g-string one night....but I don't think he was complaining about that! The other campers nearby were all very respectful of each other and kept noise to a minimum during our stay. In all, we had a good time at Thunderbird Park and would like to return. The price for the site was very fair and the natural bush surroundings were a real treat. The kookaburras are very friendly too! We were really surprised how close they came to us! If the toilet blocks for the camp site were made to look as great as the toilets near the restaurant we would be very impressed.I've since received a return e-mail from the Guest Relations Manager who has said that the camp kitchen and new toilet blocks are something that the owners are considering and may happen towards the end of 2015. If this happens, I think this would be a great place to bring the family. Our kids are both under 5 but if your kids are a few years older, I think families would love this place. A very reasonably priced stay, and close to lots of tourist attractions just down the road.

This review is very disappointing to read. We receive such excellent reviews for horse riding on a regular basis. We have passed your comments onto the owners of Thunderbird Park Horse Riding for them to address. Our sincerest apologies you did not have a great experience.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Unfortunately weather is very unpredictable and not something we can control. We have clear guidelines in our Terms & Conditions that focus on this topic alone. We had many campers still arrive and camp on Australia Day weekend. We also had a lot of campers call and transfer their booking well over 2 days before their arrival date. This meant they were able to transfer their booking and use it as credit for another time. This option was available to this guest. Whilst we appreciate what this guest is saying, it needs to be understood that we were unable to sell this particular site to anyone else because of the last minute cancellation. As mentioned before, we still had a lot of campers show up, regardless of the rain. We try to keep all customers happy however anyone in the tourism/hospitality industry will know, that is merely impossible. Our sincerest apologies we were unable to come to a mutual agreement on this occasion.

This was most disappointing to read. We know who the staff member is who you encountered at our kiosk and all we can say is that she has her very good days and, unfortunately, she also has her very bad days. These mood swings are very hard to manage and it is being discussed at management level whether this casual staff member should be terminated. Our Executive Chef will be giving her a formal warning today and then she will be meeting with our Managing Director, at which time her fate will be determined. Our Executive Chef will also be speaking with the kitchen staff about the level of their radio and their voices. There were a lot of staff on duty in the kitchen on Saturday, as there were several functions, including a wedding and day trippers, such as this reviewer. In their defence however, the Rainforest Bar was closed during the day and the doors were not open as a result. The kitchen staff therefore were not aware there were customers in the bar. The terrace is licensed and these visitors could have purchased alcohol there, which has a very pleasant outlook over the property.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are pleased you were happy with the Thundereggs you found and cut open. We have noted your comments about the staff member's attitude and will be addressing this immediately. Part of the experience is the customer service you receive when you first arrive at our adventure activity and we apologise if you were not treated correctly. Something we never like to hear. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Whilst we appreciate all types of feedback, there isn't anything constructive here to go off. We generally address issues that are raised however it appears this customers just did not like the experience we offer, which is fine. We have hundreds of happy customers leaving our park on a regular basis. We appreciate your opinion and understand our attraction is not for everyone. In saying that, this review has been posted on Thunderbird Park's property listing. Thunderbird Park has a huge variety of other adventure activities including TreeTop Challenge, Australia's longest and highest ropes course and a brand new Championship Adventure Mini Golf Course. Perhaps this reviewer can visit again and try some of the other activities.
