A very quiet and green park for lunch then an easy walk on a well made trail through the trees to the waterfall. The water is so cold, it will take your breath away! There is a more difficult circuit walk past the waterfall for those fit enough.

Haven't been here for over a decade, and was amazed at how popular it has become. Car parking space was at a premium so be prepared to walk before you even start your 'walk'. The rainforest itself is beautiful and even if you only go about 200 mtrs to the first little bridge, rockpool and waterfall it is lovely. Don't forget to stop and look up at the soaring trees, and rainforest canopy as you go - there's plenty happening up high. We were only going to do the Picnic Creek circuit, until we saw the sign that said "Rockpools 400 mtrs" (see photo). Don't be fooled, it is a very tough walk - 149 stone steps along the way on a very steep decline. You also have to come back up again. The crazy thing is that we passed people carrying prams down these steps, and very young babies, toddlers with no shoes... what were these people thinking? This is a rainforest walk - you need closed in shoes, insect repellent and drinking water. The rockpool was very cold and highly populated when we reached it, but the kids did enjoy it. Just had to listen to the whingeing on the very long walk back! Well worth a visit to this area, and not absolutely necessary to go as far as the rockpools to appreciate the natural beauty of this area.

A good walk and a bit wet under foot with the recent rains however the paths have been well developed so was still easy to do. The long walk down to the bottom was worth the effort and then up to the rock pools for a swim. Do your self a favor and do this. Very peaceful and relaxing and a good workout at the same time.

We walked down past the falls and back up to the car park in one loop. You can cool down in the pool part-way along. It was a wonderful rain-forest experience and a great walk.

Escape the heat of the coast and take a short (or longer if you have more time and energy) into the magnificent rainforest walk that gently rises above the Baroon Pocket dam with magnificent look outs! the track is incredibly well maintained. Well worth the trip.

Kondalilla National Park is situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, about 10 -15 minutes from Maleny. Parking isn't great, as the car park is a bit small and can fill up quickly, but most people seem to find a park nearby anyway. The park has a few different walks that you can do, but the one most people will do is the trail down to the rock pool. This walk starts at the top in the car park and takes you through the picnic area and down to the falls and a rock pool, which is a very popular place for people to go and have a swim. Be warned; although it's an easy trail on the way to the falls, the return features uphill sections which can be a little tiring. Numerous steps and switch-backs in the path dominate the first section of the return trail, but these soon even out to become an easy to manage trek back to the picnic area. All tolled, you're probably looking at close to 3 k/ms there and back. The swimming hole itself is can be a little brackish, but the water is cold and refreshing. Whether or not you experience the falls depends on how much rain we've had. That said, I've been there in drought and in good weather, and the swimming has always been good. Even if it's busy when you get there, you should be able to find a spot to put your gear down. Getting into the waterhole isn't hard, although the edges can be a bit slippery. Find a spot to slide in, and be prepared to have your breath taken away for a minute due to the cool water. It's very deep, so you can dive under in the middle and swim, or just find a little spot to relax by the side. Once you're done swimming, head back up and laze about on the grass and have a picnic. There are barbecues in the picnic area, but as it can get busy, you might be better off packing something to eat. Kondalilla has a lot to offer, depending on what you want to do, so have a great time!

I absolutely love kondalilla Falls! The Falls itself isn't big and great but the waterhole and the jaw dropping views down the cliff is amazing. Swimming in the hole is refreshing after the massive walk down to it. Not suitable for people who struggle to walk long distance down a rugged track

Its an easy 1-2km walk downhill from the carpark to the rock-pool but.. Then another 2-3kms if you want to go to the base of the waterfall and back up again, its quite steep so If its summer be prepared to sweat.. allot!. I would advise against going there during the holidays, its too crowded and full of loudmouth ferals who spoil the natural beauty of the place. You really cant appreciate it with all those swimming in each others pee and yelling as they jump off the rocks and ropes into the water, not relaxing at all.I enjoyed the rainforest away from all that noise.

This place is deep in the rain-forest and the trail is a mix of ups and highs. The drive to Maleny from Brisbane is really scenic and beautiful and its the whole experience that makes this place worth visiting.

Expecting the crystal clear water of mountain springs we were disappointed but not surprised to find people swimming in brackish water. it did not look appealing. The walk is a good but nice forest walk from the car park. take a drink and camera. We did see a brown snake so do take care and a stick to defend yourself if needed. wear trainers and a phone.

We chose to do a the full circuit walk on a day when it was raining. This was a wonderful experience, even though we did get quite wet!! The weather in summer is so warm though that we not at all uncomfortable. The walk begins at the top of the falls and the first stop is the large rock pool. The path then zig zags very gently down to the base of the waterfall, across the base of the waterfall and then up the other side. There are some magnificent gullies with palms on the forest canopy and ferns below. We wore walking boots and kept our feet protected and dry and the path was quite muddy in parts but in good condition otherwise. Despite the incline of the mountain itself, the path is well graduated and is achievable by most fitness levels. The most difficult part of the walk back was from the rock pool to the car park where there are many steps. This is interesting, as the most frequented part of the track is between the car park and the rock pool. Just a warning- there are some leeches, so if you do the full walk you may want to take some salt with you. I only found two, but they are a nuisance.

Easy or hard - this caters for all walkers. Bring a packed lunch - hide it from the Goannas - and enjoy the day :)

Magic spot, though on a very warm day, be advised that the well kept track and steps are quite steep in places, so take some water and decent footwear is probably a good idea, though I did it in sandals! The walk down to the water hole is lovely, with plenty of birdlife to be seen but more normally heard and the climb back out was enlivened by meeting a couple of goannas on the track; brilliant!!There was also a goanna down at the falls, quite unconcerned by the people milling about swimming and otherwise enjoying the area! The local eel was visible as well, and once again, not bothered by people at all!My wife and younger children opted to walk right down to the bottom of the falls and reckoned the extra 40mins was well worth it, while eldest daughter and myself walked back out to the immaculately kept picnic area at the start of the walk. The Queensland Parks people can be rightly proud of this facility!!
