We really enjoyed our visit to the park. Don't expect anything too grand, it's a very gentle, low key and relaxed sort of place. However what made it for us was being around all the kangaroos and emus while they were being fed.You actually get to be in the area with them, it's a pretty amazing experience. Don't miss it, it's at 2.00 every day. Thanks also to the staff, they were really helpful and friendly and definitely added to the interest and enjoyment of the day.

This place could be fantastic and a real jewel of the Fraser Coast however for a range of reasons it is not exciting, nor spectacular. Just lacks so much in the general appearance and operation.

We knew in advance about the dingo breeding programme carried out at the Sanctuary, so it was great to pay the place a visit and meet the friendly and passionate staff, as well as all the rescued aussie wildlife.Although it was a hot and humid morning there was a wide variety of birds, animals and reptiles enjoying their spacious and well kept enclosures. Lots of parrots, emus, roos, turtles and snakes, but the highlight for us was the dingoes, as we failed to see any on our recent visit to Fraser Island.Very reasonable entrance fee and refreshment prices, plus the layout is being continually enhanced with shaded rest areas and more aviaries. Keep up the great work guys!

Plenty of space for the animals to share. Lots of helpers, some of them had retired long ago, but these God's creatures had become part of their lives. It was food time, and our family (age 14 to 84) were busy feeding smaller and bigger kangaroos. A super day!

I took some overseas visitors here, fingers crossed that they'd see a couple of Aussie animals. Awesome! We felt very welcome, and it is a real up close and personal experience. We were shown around and given lots of information, but were also allowed to wander around and simply take it all in. The staff are all very passionate about the work they do, and all are very approachable and friendly. I would have liked to see a couple of benches here and there, but we were far too busy to sit down anyway. Make sure you come around 2pm, when the kangaroos are fed. We had lots of fun helping out with that.

Truly 100% all Australian. We spent over 3 hours here and got to hold a tiny baby kangaroo. We interacted with wild Emus, Peacocks, Bush Turkeys, Lizards, Deer, Snakes, Parrots and birds of all kinds. We saw Dingo's and a pup, and had a lovely picnic out on the open grounds, while birds, flew around us and Kangaroos and Wallabies grazed nearby. The staff are knowledgeable, very friendly and the entire Sanctuary is clean and very well maintained. I highly recommend a visit here.

We spent a brilliant couple of hours here with the kids feeding Kangaroos, talking to the birds and meeting the emus. The place is beautifully kept and the staff were full of enthusiasm, knowledge and commitment.

We visited the park on 14th August and it was fantastic. The volunteers were really welcoming, knowledgable and helpful. It's really very clear to see they really have the animals well being at heart. We got to feed the kangaroos and emu's and see the birds. You can get up close with the animals for a bargain entry fee.Food and drinks are reasonable - all round well worth a visit if your in the area.

We read the reviews for this sanctuary and thought that our grandchildren might like it. It is a small sanctuary with a range of animals. Charlie the long billed corella that welcomed us was the highlight for one of the children and the cockatoos that talked were the highlight for the other child. The adults also had a ball feeding the wallabies (food was $3 a bag), walking through the enclosure with emus, deer and kangaroos, seeing a variety of reptiles as well as a peacocks and parrots. The dingos playing were also great to see. We had a cream teas and pies on the terrace. The cream teas were excellent and the guys loved their pies again all was priced well. The park volunteers are very knowledgeable and we will certainly be back. It is great to see a reasonably priced park that you can afford to take the whole family.

Just visited this wonderful wildlife sanctuary run by very knowledgable volunteers . It only cost 10 dollars each and has a cheaper family package price. For only 3 dollars you can buy kangaroo food and spend ages just feeding the hand reared ones yourself. Ray, the owner was just feeding the kangaroos when we got there and he could introduce all them by name. Ray and his helper were so caring and knowledgable about all the kangaroos, dingos, many different birds and reptiles at the sanctuary. For a few dollars extra you can also have a dingo and snake experience. The directions are clear putting the address in GPS but not many signposts on the way. One of the best wildlife experiences we have ever had. We shall always remember stroking and feeding so many kangaroos...just koalas are missing but Ray says he is expanding and hopes to get some in the near future. Fantastic memory of Australia wildlife!!

The Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is a quiet little spot tucked away outside Maryborough where you can get up close to some nice Aussie wildlife and feel good that you are contributing to the care of sick or injured animals. Highlights of my visit were the talking cockatoos, the white Dingo puppy 'Spirit' and the friendly old blind Wallaroo who loves a pat.

My partner and I had the pleasure of the short scenic drive from Hervey Bay to the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sancutry on a beautiful 25 degree day.The sanctuary is run by volunteers and has Dingos which you can pat and play with for $10 each and we would have paid $20 each it was that awesome an experience. They also have Kangaroos you can feed with a bag of feed for $3 which we did but they are all so well fed they were just cruising up to us 1 or 2 at a time and it was perfect.they have a few lizards and snakes ( non venomous ) a camel some Emu's and some gorgeous Cockatoo's.There is also a majestic Wedged Tail Eagle who was saved but had to have his wing amputated so doesnt fly but he is beautifulWe spent about 1.5 hours there but if you have children you could stay even longer and enjoy the BBQ or something from the kiosk. The gift shop has a good range of stuff at really good prices and all the money goes to the care of these animals.I would rate this as 6 stars out of 5 if I could and I believe for $10 per adult entry and $10 per adult for the Dingo experience it has easily been the BEST VALUE of our trip so far....If the council can help with some signage on the Hervey Bay side of Maryborough it would make it a lot easier to find ( they are supposed to be doing this for them....one day ) Other than that type 79 Mungar Road in your GPS and its easy to find...

Met at the entrance by a wonderful lady (NZer), minimal fee, explained everything we needed to know, gave us an extra bag of food for the kangaroos. For a fee of $5 I held a black headed python by the name of 'Georgeous"!!! You can also have a dingo experience for $10, I didn't do this but it's my excuse for a return visit!! Interacted with all the animals, no crowds, staff were fantastic. I would highly recommend to all locals and tourists alike, a lovely stroll in the fresh air, a small wildlife sancutary. A great experience
