There isn't much there for non-birders, but for birders the hide is a great way to get out of the sun and see a few birds. The road is a good place to walk and see a few more types of birds.

The moment we arrived at Hasties Swamp National Park, a pair of emus came to greet us. It was super nice as these large birds came close but not too close.The first thing to do is to head for the cafe, which has a panoramic view of the lake, where much water birdlife congregate. There were several types of ducks, snipe, jacana, Whistling Kite, among others. Get a cold drink and drink in the scenery at the same time.If you are into bird watching, there are other birds such as the Grey Shrike-thrush and Double-barred Finch.Set aside half a day for this trip.

A beautiful and peaceful wetland with a wide range of permanent residents and migratory species depending on the time of year. There is an excellent 2 storey hide to see the birds - morning and evening being the best. Bring your own binoculars and don't forget the sannies!
