The main attraction at Adalong Falls is the ruins of an old gold mining site. Although the ruins were scavenged for scrap during the depression and severely damaged by recent floods there is enough left to give a good idea of what it was like. There has been a lot of restoration work done, including information plaques etc to explain the ruins. The climb down to the ruins is steep on one side but there are good steps leading down to a bridge on the other side. There are toilets located in the car park. If you are interested in history it's worth stopping for a look.

A lot of walking to do and even more you can do for an avid walker. A fascinating place to visit and great for families.

Adelong is a pleasant town near Tumut that has a strong link to the gold days. The workings, on the outskirts of town, can be viewed from a platform or you can walk among the relics. Well worth a visit.

It was a very interesting site with history of gold mining in the area. Also very pretty with the falls. It was worth the short drive from Tumut to see. I didn't like the leaches I encountered at the site!
