I started off having a very bad experience with another hang gliding firm. Having received a phone call from the firm's representative, Tony, on the Friday saying that the weather looked as if it would be suitable to go tandem gliding on the Monday, my wife and I drove up to Stanwell Park on the Sunday and stayed at a wonderful B&B (Tudor Lodge). We met with Tony at Bald Hill on Monday morning at 10am as agreed but the wind was too strong. We finished up meeting him again just after mid day at Bald Hill. He proceeded to tell me that he was not going to take me gliding and that "he had better things to do", that he had other arrangements on Tuesday and that the weather would not be suitable on Wednesday. We thought that we would have to give up.However, as he was telling me it was not suitable to go gliding that afternoon, we noticed the Sydney Hang Gliding cars pulling into the Bald Hill car park. I went over and asked if they could fit me in. Chris was marvellous and fitted me in later that afternoon. He and his team were extremely friendly and very professional. I had an amazing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Chris advised me that the wind conditions that afternoon were ideal. Thanks to Chris, and his team, for a wonderful time.

I purchased a gift certificate for my husband for his birthday as it's always been on his "to-do list". As mentioned in previous comments it is dependent on wind conditions so the first time we'd booked we were unable to go. But we were lucky the second time and my husband enjoyed every minute, particularly the take off and landing! The crew are absolutely lovely, caring and considerate. They explain everything, and also allow time for questions and photos. My husband felt safe and in good hands the entire time. I definitely recommend this company and experience.

If you are a visitor to Sydney and you get the chance, try to take a drive to Stanwell Tops. Watch the hangliders set up, take in the fantastic views of the South Coast and Wollongong, enjoy a coffee or ice cream and take some fantastic photos of the mountains and ocean and gliders. Follow the windy road south to Stanwell Park. Have a picnic or visit the kiosk for a snack or cold drink, walk across to the beach, another unspoilt location for more great photos. Parking is free at Stanwell Tops and Stanwell Park and the park has changing facilities and showers for those who want to swim. South Coast of Sydney is notorious for rough beaches and gusty winds so pack a spray jacket! If you hire a car take the Princes Highway south veering off at the Stanwell Park exit but try the drive home through the National Park through to Audley Weir as its truly a beautiful drive. No need to pay park fees if you are simply driving through without stopping. Really scenic and relaxing day and you are assured to get some great photos. Very inexpensive day out .

A very professional and friendly crew and a fabulous experience.Unfortunately hang gliding is very weather dependant, so be very flexible on your availability and consider your availability before you commit to a gift voucher - unless you live locally. We sat around for 4 hours on the first day, with the promised increase in wind always "about half an hour away". Haven been beaten by night fall, we returned the next morning to catch the only 15 mins of wind all day. At $220 plus $45 for an SD card of photos (and accommodation if you are not local) - it's a pretty expensive few minutes. But things on your bucket list just have to be done

Hang gliding had been on the 'to-do' list for quite some time, and I booked two gift vouchers so we could finally give it a try.On the morning of our flight, I called Chris Boyce to ensure that the conditions were still suitable before we drove to Stanwell Park.We arrived and announced ourselves. Chris and his team were very professional, yet casual and fun-loving at the same time. They prepared us, rigged us up, and before too long, we were in the air (on separate tandem flights).I'd had experience with paragliding and skydiving in the past, so I knew roughly what it would be like, but despite my previous experience, it was still a lot of fun, and the views over Bald Hill and surrounds were fantastic. The flight (the air time component) lasted around ten minutes. The whole experience was a lot of fun, and we'd be happy to experience it again. It's not an inexpensive activity, but for people who love flying and want to try, it's well worth it.Recommended.
