We visited the centre on New Years Eve, on our way through Parkes. Tickets are very reasonably priced and are valid for 2 days so you can easily take your time wandering through the different sections. We spent 3 hours in total, but you can come and go as you please. It is well worth taking your time to really enjoy each exhibition and talk to the people from the historical society who have some very interesting information about the collections and the local area.

We always praise the staff at most Visitor Information Centres.Located on the right hand side, heading North through town.It is the- best place to go, as staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The usual maps, brochures and souvenirs are available.

Exceptional value for money but make sure you have more than a few hours. There is something for everyone, the Elvis museum, the cars, bikes and old farm machinery, a view into the life of early Parkes and the old school room. Tickets are very reasonable and valid for 2 days, which may really be needed

NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED, outstanding value and could certainly spend more than 2 hours there. Outdoor farm equipment, over 10,000 pieces in total including local memorabilia and all antiques

Just on the edge of town this is a place you don't want to miss. There is so much to see, first Moat Cottage, a replica of Sir Henry Parkes English home. Outside only. Then into the extensive Elvis museum. Lots of memorabilia of Elvis's life.Through into the car museum, very well restored cars.Next into the Henry Parkes Museum with lots of olden days things. This will take you back in time.Outside is the old Wongalea school house..lots of memories here. Now it's the old machinery section which has the Silver City Comet train carriage which you can climb the stairs into, check out the reclining 1st class seats, and heaps of tractors and engines etc. There are also 2 old churches out there but they were locked.Needs a couple of hours here at least. There are toilets and plenty of parking. Gift shop.

As a "senior" my ticket cost $10. The ticket enables you to see three exhibitions. The first is the Elvis exhibition which was very interesting even though I am not a big Elvis Fan. I then moved on to the motor museum. One can't help but admire how cars were built in the old days. They are just beautiful. Then it was onwars to the historical society which was a collection of all things old and a bit of new. Outside there is plenty of old machinery to admire. My personal favourite is the old train which brought back memories. You are permitted to go inside the train which is wonderful. You could easily spend half a day or more here.

Very informative! The exhibits were fantastic, from cars, bikes to Elvis Presley memorabilia. Well presented.

I enjoyed viewing the Elvis display and the old cars and bikes. Out side the old farming machinery was interesting.

What used to be exclusively the regional museum has recently been added on to and now also houses Greg Page's Elvis collection. The Elvis section of the museum feels cramped and, given the collection pieces that are here and are why (I assume) most people visit, you'd think they'd give him a little more space to exhibit. The motor museum space is spectacular and very well exhibited, and the outdoors area is great to walk around and have a close look at vintage agricultural machinery. The indoor section of the local museum has some interesting pieces, but isn't exhibited all that well, and the staff tend to look over your shoulder and make you feel a little uncomfortable. Great gift shop, with a souvenir of everything Parkes has available (including some great local produce) and the staff in there and the ticket office are incredibly pleasant, even during the very busy periods. New cafe set up out the front (I didn't get to try anything, but will do next time.) Handy that the one ticket allows you through the whole property. The Elvis pieces change every now and then, so it's worth having a look at more than once to see if there's something new there.

The $12 entry fee for adults is great value for money for what this centre provides! The Elvis collection (and I am not a big fan) is so well put together and the commentary brings it to life. The vehicle collection, including motorcycles and a penny farthing, showcases the history of motoring from the veteran to the classic era. The Henry Parkes collection brings to life the history of this area. The Antique Machinery display includes farm machinery and an original train carriage that brought back some good memories. A great regional museum.

Not a bad collection of cars. Well worth visiting if you are a car enthusiast. Brought back some memories.
