Loved our friendly lodge and the views from our room. From the lodge, we were able to do the day hikes we love. Thredbo is also a quiet little village in the off season, with enough outdoor activities to keep anyone happy.

Planned to do the Kosciusko summit walk as part of a four wheel drive tour through the High Country. We had 7 avid drivers with us but all agreed the walk to the summit was a highlight of the trip. The chairlift ride was great and well worth the rather pricey fee to use it. Reasonably easy walk, very well maintained and the eco toilets almost at the top were a nice touch to protect the environment. A word of advice on entering the park - you need to buy a park use pass to be able to use the facilities of Thredbo - I had done plenty of research and never came across this, nor did we have any warning coming over the border from Victoria via the dirt roads. The NSW parks authority were nice enough to leave a 'reminder to pay' on our windscreen rather than a fine, easy enough to pay at the Thredbo or Jindabyne info offices. Will definitely return one day to do a more challenging route to the summit.

I've walked to the top of Kosciuszko twice now. Its a nice walk from the top of the chairlift (only the super fit or crazy walk up from Thredbo). Most of it is steel grating to keep the flora and fauna undamaged. There are no real steep parts on the walk, with the exception of one or 2 spots with 10 steps or so. The views from the top of Kosciuszko are good and worth the hike. It gets crowded on top though, especially around lunchtime!Plenty of other nice walks and you can reach Kosciuszko from Charlottes pass via mountain bike or walking on the old summit road (apparently in the 70's you could drive to the top!), or walk via the longer main range walk. I've done this walk as far as Blue lake and that is a lot more challenging.

Travelled here to enjoy the summer flora and do a few walks ....we loved it all! Loved the signage which showed respect for indigenous people and was also interesting. The walks were varied and beautiful. Dead Horse Gap walk was a special favourite with beautiful snow gums and wildflowers on the downward slope then down to the beautiful Thredbo river and more flora on the way back to the village. Also did the walk to Mount Kosciusko. Really enjoyed getting to the top of the continent!

The track to the top of Kosciuszko is along a great man-made walkway from the top of the chairlift at Thredbo. The 6.5 km (each way) relatively easy walk/climb gives the walker fabulous views. a close-up of the alpine flora and fauna, a good overview of some of the few classic glacial formations in Australia and a good reminder of first year geology. A strategically placed toilet block (partially hidden in the ground) just below the summit was welcome and is good means of protecting the environment along with the steel mesh walkway which protects the fragile plants and prevents erosion due to the walkers. The walkway is brilliantly designed and built and be sure to look down as you head back on the track to see the small animal "rat runs" and tunnels underneath (the position of the sun makes them hard to see on the way up). Take water and snacks and be prepared for a spectacular descent on the charlift back to Thredbo.

The Australian bush - what a great atmosphere. Kosciusko National Park . There is a little bit of everything for everyone. Mountain Biking, Walking, Photography (wow), Cafes, Chairlifts, Restaurants, Wedding Venues, Resort/Spa, Segway Tours and of course skiing in the Winter. There is nothing to dislike.

A wonderful variety of walking trails from easy to strenuous moderate are the best. The facilities in the park are very well maintained and very clean suggest that sunscreen be used as the wind burn and clear sun can cause sunburn easily.

Great ride up on the Express chairlift, then a 13km return easy walk to summit. Steel mesh walkway for most of it makes the walk very easy. Rest is on fine terrain as well.Fabulous views from top. A bit chilly there in the wind but generally lovely... best take a fleece and rain jacket in case. Alpine flowers everywhere and many crows flying around. Amazing to see toilets near the top, but perhaps this is because so many school groups go up. Not a huge challenge but very worthwhile.

The summer Kosciuszko walk is becoming a favourite of ours (either from Thredbo or Charlotte's Pass). Park well maintained and there is still a good mix of ease of access but a feeling of remoteness. Minor issue of cue for park pass but this is less than 10 minutes in summer. An automated system would help.

Guided Mt Kozzie walk. Lovely Canadian guide with an emphasis on flowers. Well-paced with interesting titbits of info. Walk is accessible to a range of ages. Has some steep sections but the 4 year old with our grouped managed the trek of 13km return.

We visited Mt Kosciusko National Park in January, so it was mid-summer, but it was obvious that Thredbo is a prime ski area in winter. We have climbed many mountains with full rock and snow gear, so the highest summit of Australia was somewhat of an anti-climax, which is not to disparage it in any way. The summit is reached by a gentle path with lots of lovely vegetation all the way and on a clear day such as we had, the views are worth the trip - not particularly spectacular - but long vistas of rolling mountain ridges as far as the eye can see. In addition to the mountain itself, other hiking trails in the area are more challenging and very worthwhile.

Friendly family atmosphere. The quiet nature and the ability to do some good bike tracks. Walking to the top of the mountain. Town is a bit pricey and the clothing and other shops are geared towards the more wallet filled . You don't go there to shop anyway. Great place for a holiday for most people I would think .

We went with our daughter & family to spend Christmas in Thredbo. We were aged from 13yrs to 76years & all followed the walk to the top of Mount Kosciuszko. A great experience and well worth the old aching legs !! Summer in the Snowy Mountains is recommended to all and the wild flowers a delight to behold.Thredbo Village offers a variety of shops, eating places etc., and there are plenty of walks in the area, along with Mountain Biking for the adventurous. A lovely place for a summer holiday

The summit walk was amazing and as a not so fit middle aged couple we managed the well set up walk. The views from the top are sensational
