Headed to North Gong on a stunning summers day for a small group surf lesson with my gf and AST SURF SCHOOL. Second time in the water and got up almost everytime. Tom (English guy with Zinc all over his face) is a sweet heart who has tremendous patience for beginners and chicks that dont listen ;-/ definitely recommend this lot for learning to surf and hanging out with!!

My 9yo Son has been with AST Surf Groms for over a year now, it is just amazing how quickly he has progressed in a short time frame! And he just keeps getting better and better! The Surf Coaches combine a super fun learning environment with safety being paramount. The kids don't just learn to surf, they are also well educated in surf/ocean awareness, which are tools they will use for life. The confidence they have instilled in my son with his weekly surf lessons is absolutely amazing (plus highly reccommend the surf school holiday clinics...most awesome week ever!), the AST coaches are worth their weight in gold, they have an amazing connection to the kids and we know we will be with AST for a long time! The Farm location is absolutely stunning, best spot to learn to surf! We highly recommend AST!!!!

We have been surfing with Sam, Jose and their team from AST (Surfgroms) for over a year now at all locations during all seasons. These guys are the best they are professional, full of experience, very safety conscious, and knowledgeable. They make every lesson fun and educational and are fantastic with the kids. My son loves them and loves learning from them every week he can't wait to get down there. His ability to surf is improving continuosly - but not only his ability he is also understanding all there is to know about water safety, and all facets of surfing both in and out of the water it's amazing to see the enthusiasm he gets from experiancing and learning all of this from these guys. I Can't recommend AST Surf School enough.

My daughter and son have enrolled in Surf Groms with Jose and the crew from AST for their fourth session now over the last year or so. All the instructors are highly committed to safety, passionate about teaching all they know and energetic in their approach with the children. My kids have learnt so much and have plenty of fun so they are bouncing out of bed to go in our current Saturday morning sessions. The Farm is by far the superior place to surf in the south as it is contained, safe and just gorgeous to sit on the beach and watch the children enjoy doing their absolute best and being so proud when they perfect their technique. Anyone who has primary school children keen to learn skills for life should seriously look this team up. Highly recommended!!!

I have no hesitation in recommending these guys as my kids have been with them since they started their first Surfgroms program at the Farm. The lessons are structured in a fun way with surfing, skating, videoing and a strong emphasis on ocean awareness. Jose and Sam also aim to give the kids a strong skill base to work on - not just standing up but top and bottom turns, wave selection etc. We have tried a couple of other surf schools but as the title says 'these guys are the best'
