As part of the High Country Rail Trail we biked along the foreshore of the lake. It is very low at the moment but still very very pretty. If you want to bike - use the rail trail. We also drove to the dam. One of a few dams in Australia that you can still walk over.

We drove to Bellbridge and rode our bicycles around the quite roads around the lake. Although the lake is lower than we expected, it was a beautiful day, the roads were quiet and we had a glorious ride over the "undulating" roads - the lookout road is a killer for bike riders though! Lovely to get back to the Bellbridge café for a drink, an ice cream and a chat with the locals.

We did the easy and beautiful drive around the lake. There are a few places you can pull over. But probably not enough. Love this drive and would do it again

You have to visit the general store & pick up an icecream.....best value anywhere, be careful when you order the large size you'll never get through it!!

The bird life on this large dam alone makes it worth the trip out of Albury. You are able to walk the full length of the dam wall, which is comparable in length to Warragamba, and view the turbine room from above. Recreational facilities around the lake and the cabin sites are well maintained.

Although I haven't visited, or fished here at the Hume Weir mainly, for MANY years, (decades),it was great to come back, relive some memories, see the changes and have a picnic lunch on the banks of the lake while we travelled through the area.Still a nice area with the green hills, in the background and a pleasant drive with scenic views. We did stop at the local shop afterwards at the tourist park for a coffee on the decking with good partial views of the lake.

Now that the drought has broken, the lake is full again and is a far more pleasant place to go than when there is little to no water in the dam. The facilities are to be praised as there are picnic areas, BBQ, boat ramps and toilet facilities. The fish stocks appear to be good and when we dropped in a couple of lines there were plenty of bits that resulted in a couple of fish landed. Recommended place to spend an afternoon or more.

There's not a huge amount to do here, but it's an impressive view--an enormous dam, a really large body of water (some of which is often spraying out of the dam in vast quantities), mountains in the distance, rolling hills. There's a small shop for ice cream and drink purchasing.

Great drive next to the lake, with beautiful views if you drive past Bethanga Bridge. We meet regularly with friends on a picnic spot just before the bridge. Free BBQ, an area where dogs can roam free and kids can puddle in the water. Very peaceful scenery...

Last time we visited Lake Hume was at the height of the 10 year drought we have photos of our car at the base of the no speeding boating sign! This year, the lake looked in fine condition and the surrounds in perfect nick.

If in Albury, visitors ought to take the time to visit Lake Hume Reservoir. It offers wonderful views and is kept in impeccable order.

Great area for canoe and boating enthusiasts, and a great picnic area. The tourist park there used to be small and intimate, but is now a bit crowded for my liking. The road which used to lead to the back road to Wodonga over the Weir is now closed, and I remember driving over it many years ago. I was also sad that the Trout Farm is closed, which used to be a favourite place to visit. I lived here 30 years ago, and it has changed a lot. Still a very pretty place, and worth the drive to see.

Hadn't been here for years but a nice way to start the day. Make time to walk across the wall and back for the best views. On the Saturday I was there the yachts and other boats were having a great time too.
