Sadly I couldn't find the sculptor's name anywhere. This is a real disappointment because the quality of the sculpture is excellent and although thematically different is of equal quality to the Weary Dunlop Memorial in the Benalla Botanic Gardens. This is in fact the point, why on earth would they plonk Albert in a car park and condemn him to spend the rest of his days staring at a retail centre. The memorial itself is excellent, well intentioned and quite eloquent in its celebration of Australian VC recipients, but if only out of respect please think about putting it somewhere it makes sense as more than just an inducement to shop in the area, maybe the Albury Botanic gardens or even plant up the Borella Road, Shubach Street roundabout and give Albert a view to the west.
