Epsom House, Pontville, Tasmania, once a licensed hotel and coaching stables in Tasmania's colonial times is again a reception and accommodation venue just 30km north of Hobart in the small country settlement of Pontville on the River Jordan. Several years of painstaking restoration work and intense respect for this intrinsic colonial property and gardens has created one of Tasmania's newest and arguably finest. We enjoyed a long lunch in dappled sunshine at white linen tables set about the reproduction of a C19 Georgian garden with 120 other guests - truly a 'balade en campagne' to remember forever.
