Make sure that you visit this centre and buy your tickets for the Tahune Airwalk. Such a well presented display of the history of forestry and logging in Southern Tasmania. Adds so much to the overall understanding of the visit to the forests.

This is the spot to stop to buy your tickets to enter the Tahune AirWalk, same price but no lining up when you get to the AirWalk. The other advantage of stopping here is you get the chance to read and see a little of the history of the timber history of this beautiful region. Do yourself a favour and go upstairs and enjoy the display and read the story linked to the original art images of the early life. While you are stopped within Geeveston have a look around town and read about the characters of early Geeveston. It is fun....Thanks Geeveston.

I loved this charming town with its many wooden carved statues throughout the town. These were of past residents and well worth a walk around and take time to read about these many interesting people. This is also where we bought our tickets to the Tahune Airwalk. Wow loved this creative museum. Make sure you take the time to go upstairs and check out the very informative information about the logging industry. This is done through a series of very unique paintings and also creative work by some of the younger residents of the town.

A side trip when travelling back from hastings caves. We never knew that this "museum" was here. Was very interesting reading the history of the are and what some of the pioneering families went through.

Fantastic upstairs section that told the history of the area in a series of paintings, artefacts, sound and light displays, etc. also hands on stuff for kids.

This Little town is gorgeous. There are wooden carvings throughout the Main Street that are amazing. Then inside this museum is a lot of timber history. There are displays and items to buy in the gift shop. Staff were helpful. We purchased our airwalk tickets here.

This is the first and unique museum I ever visited of this type of exhibits. This museum tells the history of South Tasmanian Forestry and other Wood and Timber related stuffs, and the life of local people related and depend on the forest. A lot of things related to Timber are displayed on this museum. Wood samples, statues, old forestry tools, traditional timber processing ways and products and photos. The Museum is at the centre of a small town, Geeveston, approx. 95 km to the south from Hobart following State Highway A6 Huon Highway. This site is close to the other famous attraction, Tahuna Forest Air Walk. So, one trip to the south from Hobart and get two destinations, with the bonus a beautiful scenery along Huon River Bank.
