This treasure found while exploring around Murray Bridge area South Australia. Just over the ferry crossing on the Murray River at Wellington (the first ferry crossing on this major river), this majestic building stands high above the bank. The Wellington Courthouse and Police Museum built in 1864, houses many artifacts, but so much more. A large undercover seating area has been added adjacent to the museum including a boutique bar. Meals may be taken here in the outdoors, or in a small Spanish style air conditioned side room off the cafe( which is also licensed). The surprisingly varied menu provides beautifully cooked home made food. On site there are also a few B & B units, and an upstairs function room. Toilet facilities immaculate. Highly recommended.
