We took the 3-hour lunch cruise on a Friday. The cruise took us up stream from Murray Bridge and included 2-course lunch. The boat is a nice old-style paddle boat with a fully enclosed dining area and outside decks on 2 levels. It has a decent bar selling beer, wine, spirits and tea and coffee. The food choices on the day were roast beef with gravy and vegetables, or chicken with garlic sauce and vegetables. Dessert was either apple crumble or fruit salad. We found the both the main meal and the desert simple, unpretentious and very tasty. While the Murray River scenery won't have you leaping out of your chair with excitement, there is still a lot to see. There are river banks with willow trees, wetlands, birds, houseboats, fisherman shacks and the occasional steam boat sprinkled along the way. It is the kind of scenery that lends itself readily to being watched drifting by with a full belly and a glass in your hand.Overall, this was a very enjoyable cruise. We would happily do it again.

Had a very enjoyable three hour cruise with very informative commentary from the Captain and a fixed menu lunch. The lunch was enjoyed by all of our party and the bar prices were very reasonable and drinks very cold. Staff were very friendly and the boat very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed the cruise, friendly staff, great food, home cooked style, generous portions. The captain gave a knowledgable commentary, not to loud so you can still hear the sound of the river and the water splashing from the paddle wheel. The bar has some lovely local wines, we tried the red, very drinkable, and reasonably priced for a bar with a captive audience!

Captain Dan and his team were friendly and informative. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed listening to Dan's commentary along the way. The boat holds up to 70 guests and guests have access to the three levels. The toilets are located downstairs on the lower level. Although, most of the guests were elderly they did manage the flight of stairs. The meal was a choice of roast beef or chicken and apple crumble or fresh fruit. Drinks are not included. A relaxing day out. $118 a couple including lunch.

We went on a Murray River cruise on the 10/01/2015 with friends. It was a dinner cruise sort of thing. The host were very nice the cruise was good and the entertainment was great, but the food was absolutely disgusting. I am by no means a food expert but I have had better meals in hospital, now you have to admit that's saying something. For the price of the 3 hour cruise including a 2 course meal is some what way over the top considering the quality or I should say lack of quality in the meal that was dished up. I cannot recommend Captain Proud Paddle Boat Cruises as a worth while outing.

We decided to book a last minute lunch cruise on the River Murray so we had a little Google around and found Captain Proud. I gave them a call to see if they were operating the next day and the nice lady on the phone mentioned that they were and had an online special. So I booked online and saved $The 3 hours was perfect to meander along the Murray and enjoy our two course meal. There were plenty of water birds along the way. The staff were nice and polite. We were lucky to have only about 30 guests on board which was perfect.. I'll certainly be telling my friends about my enjoyable lunch / cruise experience.

Thank goodness did pay the full price as we had a coupon and even at the price of $78 each was not worth it.The meal was more like canteen food. The interior of the boat is worn and shabby. There is limited sprits at the bar.The cruise was cancelled due Thunderstorm warnings .We were given tickets to return for the cruise only .Will not bother. The owners of the boat I have to say were friendly. It just was not my cup of tea!!

Wonderful experience even though the cruise needed to be cancelled due to thunderstorm warning. Was treated to a wonderful meal and fantastic entertainment on board. Captain Greg, his beautiful wife Vesta & crew made us so welcome. Very apologetic re - needing to heed warning of thunderstorm and has promised a free voucher to return for either a three hour lunch or dinner cruise. The food was home cooked and very delicious. The atmosphere was delightful with a cute Captain's lounge on lower deck. The surroundings of the river, the bridge, ducks. pelicons, other river craft was enchanting. Maxine the singer had a wonderful voice and get variety of songs as well as a great personality. We cannot wait to return as can only imagine how much better it will be cruising down the river. Highly recommend this as a wonderful experience and excellent value for the cost.

Very relaxing enjoyable time spent on the Paddle Steamer. Greeted by friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Lovely dining room set up. Fun banter by the Captain started the trip in good spirits. 3 hours of gliding along the river, sitting back relaxing on the deck. Meeting new people from all walks of life. Watching the riverbanks pass by full of holiday makers enjoying their summer. Not a lot of bird life on the day but have heard there can be a good selection. The meal was excellent - choice of 2 main courses and 4 desserts! Fuly Brilliant value - 3 hours, meals, company what more could you ask for. Will definitely recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Paddle Steamer. Very relaxing, lots to see and a nice lunch which should suit all tastes. Staff were low key but efficient and attentive and it was excellent value for money. Recommend the complete experience.

This excursion is a must,, a 3 hour trip along the Murray River with a 3 course dinner. We phoned the number on the website and managed to hire the captains lounge for around about $35 per head. It was like traveling back in time, the food was very good and generous in their portions, its also fully licensed and had a well stocked bar. The captain gave a running commentary and pointed out the areas of interest along the way, the crew were really friendly and were only to willing to answerer any questions and help out in any way. great for families and couples.
