We enjoyed our visit here; a stop along the Golden Mile as it's becoming known. nautilus wines are worthy and precise - maybe don't shower you with angel dust - but each varietal on offer is utterly distinct and correct; a great mini tutorial in what each should taste like. I liked the their sparking brut best of all. Welcoming reception, enthusiastic host; recommended.

After a recent holiday to Nelson I made sure that I allowed time to call in the this winery enroute to the Picton ferry. We were the only visitors there to begin with and had a tasting with Phil( I hope that was his name! apologies if I am wrong) who had been associated with the winery for 30 years. Guiding us through the selection of wines available was no trouble unlike wineries I have been to before where the numbers of tourists make it difficult to get a good snapshot of what the winery has to offer. Had it not been for the restrictions of duty free limits, I would have come away with more than the 1 bottle I purchased but what a beauty it will be. One of their special editions. Although I have bought Nautilus wine in Australia, the benefit of visiting these wineries is the range of wines which isn't always easy to obtain overseas.

We ended our wine cycling tour in Nautilis. The wine was amazing and we were able to taste a wide variety. The man who gave us the tasting (I'm afraid I can't remember his name) was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt quite a lot about wine we didn't know before. Thank you! Definitely try and go here if you are in Renwick.

The Nautilus Estate is a small, family-run winery located at 12 Rapaura Road in the heart of the beautiful Marlborough region just down the road from Giesen Winery. The winery is easy to spot due to the large Nautilus shell sculpture at the entrance. We were staying in the Vintner's Estate for a few days & were basically doing a wine tour of all the wineries in the area. Nautilus Estate offers an excellent cellar door with a good selection of wines to taste & has been recognised as one of the top 10 cellar doors in the Marlborough region. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly & efficient. We enjoyed the tasting of all their wines & brought a few bottles to take back to our apartment. Cellar door opens from 10am - 4.30pm, seven days a week.

Nautilus offers a modern cellar door tasting room and an excellent range of locally grown wines. For my taste, the stand out was the sparkling Cuvee Marlborough Brut which is dry yet full of fruit and biscuity flavours. Their Chardonnay is excellent, as is the late harvest sticky wine that we believe is enhanced by being botrytis affected. Their award winning Pinot Noir is also worth tasting. We purchased their Sauvignon Blanc to take home for dinner because we liked its full fruit driven, yet crisp, herbaceous flavours. While tasting, we chose to purchase the cheese platter that they offer ($20NZD) which included a selection of locally produced cheeses - a soft triple brie, a cumin seeded gouda, an unusually firmer style goats cheese and a wonderfully pungent blue cheese. These were served with a selection of dried fruits and piquant mango chutney and crackers. Mixing and matching the cheeses and accompaniments with the wines offered an epicurean adventure. We were well served by the knowledgeable Katrina who guided us through the various tastings. We recommend this winery as part of your vineyard tour of the Marlborough region.
