This was our first time to this orchard and it was a good experience. The place is well organized, they give you a choice of two different sized bags when you enter and you pay upon leaving the orchard. There is ample parking on the site, so that's not an issue. When we went, there was live latin music, which was really nice. At least on Saturday (the day we went), the orchard closes at 5 pm, so best to get there early. Expect a large turnout... there were a LOT of people when we went late in the day. Best to go as early as possible and expect some traffic upon leaving the orchard, as there's only a two lane divided highway (one lane each direction) to get you back to the main highway. There are washrooms, picnic/eating area, horses & donkeys, snacks, and a store to purchase apple cider, muffins, pies, donuts (all apple based). There are two tractor rides that will bring you to the orchards, with pickup and drop off points. Well organized.

We have been to several orchards in the Oka area over the years but this is probably the most comprehensive in terms of facilities, activities, etc. They have a gorgeous view as well and on a clear day like we had, you can see the downtown core, Olympic Stadium, etc. It was extremely busy there the day we went but we found it still easy to navigate around even with my 8 month old son in a stroller. They even insisted we bring him on the tractor ride into the orchard which we appreciated.Besides the apple picking, there were jungle gyms/swing sets placed sporadically around the huge property as well as a petting zoo, horses, food being BBQd, homemade sweets and their shop to browse through. They also have the Lafrance line of ciders, sparkling cider and ice cider available for tastings. We enjoyed the ice cider so picked up a bottle along with a homemade meat pie from the store for dinner that evening. Looking forward to going back next year.

Very nice place. A lot of different activities: apple picking, playground for the kids, little farm, tractor ride, shopping. Perfect for an outside afternoon with the family!!!

A good place to visit - pick apples - bring children to enjoy all their facilities, and sample some of their products which are quite tasty. However, the restaurant part is not the best... everything comes in paper packaging, even the cups for coffee....and the price is a bit too elevated for what one gets. However, sitting outdoors under a very large old apple tree is fun. On the most popular sunny autumn days the place is a bit too crowded for my taste. The apples are good!

If you live in the area or passing through, this is a regular place to come with family and friends. When the apple picking season is on this place is heaving with visitors who board the tractor driven trailers leaving every few minutes to pick their own apples in the huge orchards nearby. In July it is much quieter, but the shop is still open selling numerous apple based ciders, wines and everything else that you can make with apples. There is a snack bar and you can sit outside under one of the many apple trees. There is huge play area for kids which is just being upgraded plus a menagerie of animals, including horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits and chickens etc

This place isn't a cute little farm visit. You purchase all things apple here.Apple infused caramel, hard cider, sparkling cider with alcohol, apple`shaped bag, cider vinegar with mother.Part of the Chemin du Terroir, this was a fun place as no one else was there and the sales lady was so pleasant. I had the farm experiences throughout the day, and I just needed to make my purchases and chirstmas purchases and continue on the chemin. The cider vinegar is good, the sparkling cider is great , and the Dargan or Daragon hard cider was so light and refreshing. There is a small fee for tasting.I would go back. There are other components to this massive point of sales but we went close to closing. Maybe a restaurant and pie factory?

Went here on a field trip with my childs school. I've been to other orchards so I was surprised to see how big this one is. On arrival, there's a few animals and a park area for children. Its very nice and new. They reserved tables for us inside ther orchard right near another hidden park area. That was really cool because the kids were able to play in their own secluded park.To go apple picking, they took us on a tractor ride and dropped us off - we picked apples for about an hour...it was nice but I wish we could have known which apples we were picking. A sign somewhere would have been nice. There were plenty of ladders and lower trees for young children. That was fun. There's also a store that sells everything from apple cider to apple pies. Most people will probably like it but I thought it felt too commercial. I walked in and thought I was in an SAQ for a second. I was expecting warm, home made apple pie but it was all done in bulk, nothing was warm or fresh-out-of the oven like other orchards I've been to. With that said, I still bought an applie pie ($10) and it was delicious!, the apple juice was also great. You can eat lunch there, I didnt eat anything but it smelled delicious! I would probably go back on my own with my family but definitely during the day in the middle of the week.

Vergers Lafrance is located in the heart of Montreal's "north shore" farming district in St-Joseph-du-Lac. The property is child-friendly with some animals and a huge playground they can play in. Afterwards, you get onto a tractor trailer that takes you into the orchard to pick your own apples. The place is huge! Best time to come: early September to early October. Labor Day and Thanksgiving weekends are VERY hectic and packed with people, so try to come on another weekend or during the weekday if you don't like big crowds. Plenty of free parking. Must-try is their fresh apple-cinamon donuts. Also, ask for a map of the area and go visit all the other local Cheese makers, bakeries, and wild game growers (like ostrich, lama, bison, etc).
