The exhibitions at this museum are very well displayed. There is a very interesting Canadian Contemporary, conceptual art, and local Laurentian artists are shown too. At times the artwork is not the most accessible art to understand or relate to. However, the museum employees and the volunteers who welcome you to the exhibit halls might be quite helpful in making contemporary art part of your regular list of things to do. I have just seen there an exhibition by Eric Ladouceur which was quite intriguing, interesting and inspiring. After two short visits, the museum gave us yet another opportunity to meet the artist himself and attend an explanatory visit with him and his curator.If you live in the Laurentians it would be a good idea to register as a member, the museum needs our support. Every exhibit opening has a talk by the artist or the curator, especially for members, along with a glass of wine too. For the visitors to our area it would be a pleasant way to view art without the large crowds of city museum visits or the high price charged for the visit elsewhere.
