The kind of place you love to spend time just enjoying the surroundings and relaxing. Service is excellent ... food is quite good. Timeless elegance about this place.

We usually come with our boat to this place cause there is also the Marina service and it's always a wow!!! You have to try the outside buffet in summer time it's fantastic! Le Chateau is very beautiful.

The course is beautifully set but a number of the greens are constructed in such a way that they are very difficult to access...a tricky course, but good value, as we got end-of-season rates

I went to school many years ago near Chateau and have fond memories of this magnificent log buildingWinter here is fun as is summer and golf

Golfed at Montebello last week. Enjoyable experience, with pleasant scenery - carved out of the hilly terrain. Club house is nice. Had a light lunch, which was tasty. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Perfect place to relax... By the water... We went on different occasion and last time was for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Nice place to take photos outside. Buffet (outdoor) is good, lot of choices. You can sleep at Le Chateau the rooms are beautiful and the foyer too with a huge fireplace. There is an indoor pool and lovely sentiers to walk. You can also do horseback riding. We will go again for sure!

Spectacular holes, great scenery and charming club house. However, during our visit, the greens are not well groomed as should be for a golf course of this standing.

I have played the course twice. It is a fiendishly challenging short course (... without being gimmicky... except for one par 3 where they had to change the green location because neighbours complained.... CHANGE IT BACK!)... I hit 5 wood off the tee for all but 3 holes. The course is carved out of a hill and offers spectacular views. The only problem was that this year they lost most of the greens to a late frost such that they were almost unplayable. My only complaint was they still charged full price for playing on greens where you didn't need to worry about reading the break as you were putting on grass... dirt... grass... dirt.. grass.

I love this golf course! There that's my review.............ahhh but you want more, ok let's see what we can say about this course and why you should do whatever you can to play it.1. Designed by a famous golf course designer Stanley Thompson. (course was opened in 1931) who created a classic beauty a wonderfully picturesque design carved out of an area of natural beauty.2. Great club house, with dining and shower facilities, simply top notched with dining facilities and pro shop and staff.3. Excellent value for the money, green fee includes a cart which you definitely need for the up and down terrain.4. Each hole is different, and tree lined by mature trees. Because of the mature trees you cannot see any hole but the one you are playing. Montebello is not a long course but very challenging, small undulating greens add to the challenge.5. Course is not crowded, pace of play is good, 4 to 4 1/2 hours is normal.6. Course condition is excellent, well kept and well manicured. 7. Montebello golf is just so very very picturesque and scenic and classic, it's like stepping back in time, a total joy. There are some stunning views from the tees, this course looks so good, you'll forget your score!8. Electric powered golf carts, clean and quiet.9. Great customer service by pro shop and staff out on the course, classy and friendly.10. It's in Quebec, so you feel like you are on adventure to a unique destination just when you drive here. Montebello is a beautiful course, in gorgeous surroundings and is just such a totally classic joy to play! In the fall, with the leaves changing it is even more beautiful! So far this year I've played here 6 times and each time it is a joy, I just get tired of it.If you are in the Ottawa area, it is definitely worth the 1 hour drive to get here. Excellent value for the money! Chances are you'll see me there when you go, so please hi, or

The Chateau Montebello is a beautiful resort. Do not expect the luxury of a city hotel. This is a holiday resort. Hotel clean, comfortable and quiet. Dining room excellent and service outstanding. Spa was great. Outdoor pool heated and welcoming. You can even order drinks and snacks for the pool area. Indoor pool was being renovated so not used. Many organized activities in surrounding area at extra cost. Rooms average size but well appointed. Outdoor BBQ each evening weather permitting. Excellent breakfast buffet (was included in our package). Only negative was the outdoor snack bar which served food and drinks in plastic containers (a bit cheap for a Fairmont!).

The chateau montebello is beautiful if not a bit dated. The rooms are small, yet clean and comfortable. The larger restaurant was delicious. The property is beautiful and well kept. My only two negatives were, there is no where to get a drink after 12.00 and the "bar" has a bad smell. perhaps it was a bit of an off weekend, there were many weddings taking place and alot of small children running the hallways.
