I volunteer at my local Visitor Center, and have for 10 years. I did it originally to learn more about my new town, and maybe make a few business contacts, but quickly did it because it was great to help people. All of us are volunteers at our VC, and perhaps the amount of knowledge and ability to help visitors is pretty uneven compared to professionals. At least, that's how it seems when we encounter people like we did in our two visits to the Whistler VC.Great ideas and information, cheerful and genuine help, which is pretty much our experience with Canadians in general, was well in force both times we stopped in, and both times we walked out with not just our questions answered, but some questions we didn't know to ask. Great people.

On a previous trip we stayed outside the Village, but spent all our time walking back and forth. This trip we stayed in the Village at the Pan Pacific Hotel. What a difference. Right in the middle of everything and definitely the place to stay.

They were very friendly and helpful when we were looking for shops around Whistler Village. Nothing was a bother to ask and directions were accurate.

You go for help and the ladies hard sell you attend a interrwest viewing time share. Have to leave cash deposit, that you don't get back. Don't go itisacover for selling timeshare for interwest.

Arrived late afternoon in Whistler and had no hotel reservation. We stopped at the tourist office and were greeted by Emilio at the accommodation kiosk. What a wonderful person, he went out of his way to try to find a room for us on this busy Saturday, made so many phone calls and was able to find us the perfect room in a bnb, he even made recommendations for his favorite restaurants. I know a tourist office is suppose to be helpful but this Emilio deserve a huge thank you! Grazie Mille!!!!

The Visitor Centre is a useful place to check in and orientate yourself in Whistler. There are lots of maps and leaflets for activities. The staff are very helpful, but also very thorough and don't seem to phased by trying to be a bit more efficient if there are lots of people waiting to be assisted. So do try and get there early, or don't expect rapid assistance during peak times.

Whilst staying in Whistler I went in here a couple of times, once to find a recommendation for dinner and secondly to book some tours. Both times the staff members were extremely helpful and able to attend to all of our needs.

We stopped by the Visitor Centre several times during our stay in Whistler and each time the staff was eager to help. They were very knowledge about things to do in the area, dining suggestions, and even gave us ideas for what to do when we traveled to Vancouver.

I would like to say how helpful the accommodation desk were at the visitor centre. On arrival at Whistler, my husband and I had no idea what what was what, and the young man on the desk helped us find a quiet hotel, which was what we wanted. He then booked a room on our behalf.

We wanted to Purchase some tickets from the activities side, however the sales representative helped one woman for over 40 minutes while we stood in line so I gave up and left. Nice maps of the village.
