We had the best time. The views, support we had on our trip and the help we had booking the trip exceeded all my expectations. We had no idea what we were in for and our guide took us the best possible trip. The amount our guide and support wrangler did for us there is not enough ways to say thank you. I have recommended to friends already and would recommend to anyone that loves mountain biking and the outdoors to do this trip. We can not wait to book again. Thanks The Nicholson's

Just spent 2 days mountain biking in the Chilcoutin Mountains, staying at Tyax Lodge on lake Tynaughton. Tyax Adventures is separate from Tyax Lodge but run trips from there. Tyax Adventures offers biking, hiking and horse back trips that can last up to a week. We did two days of guided mountain biking, one around the lodge and the second we took a float plane to Spruce Lake with our bikes and our wonderful guide Jeff. We biked back to the lodge from Spruce Lake, a 30 km trip through open alpine meadows, and forests, following Gun Creek down the mountain. The views were spectacular and the biking was outstanding. The trip was basically downhill for most of the way as we lost 2200 feet of altitude over the ride, but there were a few tough climbs and rock gardens to deal with along the way. This is definitely not a trip for novice bikers, but if you love fast flowy riding there is not much better to be had anywhere. Our guide Jeff was terrific in his knowledge of the mountains and the flora and fauna along the way. He was very good at describing what was coming up and what to expect so that there were no surprises. Although you could do this without a guide, I would not recommend it as there are many unmarked trails that you would miss if you did not have a local guide. Even the marked trails are not well marked as they criss cross with unmarked trails so one could easily get lost. We have done lots of riding in Moab and Sedona and this is the best experience we have had to date. If you are an avid mountain biker put this on your bucket list. There is lots more territory to cover than we experienced in 2 days so we plan to definitely go back again next year, and maybe the year after that as well.

This horseback riding trip exceeded all my expectations, despite having ridden in this country in the 1980's. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. We rode over a minimum of four mountain passes. The horses were well trained for the mountain trails. Respectful and well mannered. The other riders were a pleasure to share the experience with. Thank you Brennan (Guide) and Teresa (Guide/cook) for taking care of us during this week. I smile just thinking of this adventure.

Our multi day winter adventure was only possible by means of the ski plane and pilot combination provided by Tyax Air and our extraction ahead of foul weather got us out of there just in time. I can't wait to go back.

Hi wellwoman5. Thanks for your review! Although we here at Tyax Adventures are based at Tyax Resort we are actually a separate company offering all the activities out of the lodge. I'll pass on your review and here's the link to Tyax Resort direct, http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review-g499133-d263483-Reviews-Tyax_Wilderness_Resort_Spa-Gold_Bridge_British_Columbia.htmlThanks again! Hope to see you back for some adventures in the future.

Our gang of four couldn't have picked a better time to ride in the Chilcotin for five days with wrangler Brennan and porter/camp cook Teresa. They are two well-experienced outback guides with lots of horse sense, great humour, and many stories to keep us interested during our daily rides. We were guaranteed a great view, beautiful lakes and flowering alpine meadows every day and were not disappointed. Glad we brought our rain gear - one day we headed out in a downpour but by late morning, out came the sun and we tucked into our saddlebags for lunches prepared by Teresa. It didn't get any better than this.

I am recently home after the best adventure ever on the women's only bike camp Tyax Adventures put on. It was challenging, with some long days but most certainly worth it. Our guide, Emily, and coach, Katrina, along with the other girls on the camp were incredibly supportive and a heap of fun. The camp hosts were awesome and the facilities were very comfortable. The food supplied was more than enough and pretty tasty. Bring layers for all conditions as our weather did not match the forecast! Expect to hike with your bike for a lot of the climbs and make sure you pace yourself so you have enough energy to enjoy the downs :) Oh, and don't forget chain lube, and long socks to protect your shins from the shrubs along the single track! I am very happy I went on this trip.

Absolutely EPIC… Complete with Lorna Lake float plane drop, flowy single track, cozy Spruce Lake Camp & Eldorado Cabin accommodation, delicious food, wildlife, creek crossings, endless mountain & meadows scenery and amazing guides. This is the real deal for bike adventures! Over each mountain pass we discovered a bit of what the South Chilcotins have to offer. Highlights would have to be the summer storm on top of Windy pass, the rain that fell created some of the best dirt I've ever ridden. Did I mention the wood burning sauna at Eldorado cabin, talk about luxury in the middle of nowhere! I would highly recommend any guided hut to hut trip with Tyax Adventures to anyone. My next bike adventure there can't come soon enough! Meesh Moran

Excellent service to and from the lodge, with breathtaking scenery during our 40km ride through the South Chilcotin range. Highly recommend for any avid mountain biker or outdoors enthusiast!

Amazing trip at Eldorado! Ski touring was better than expected with lots of options for getting on tops of peaks when conditions allow as well as storm skiing options in the trees all around the cabin. The cabin worked out perfectly for our group of 9 and we just booked again for next year. Full days of deep turns then relaxing back at the hut with everything you need.

Lieu superbe.Prestations chères cependant pour des vacances en famille mais a priori ils sont en train de revoir l'offre des repas (à la carte pour l'instant, même au petit déj)... à suivre !
