We enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds. The views of the bay are really nice. The nightly tour of the cemetery is very interesting.

lots of history, wish there could have been more detailed written material, but worth the time to take a look and walk around

I walk around Fort Anne every time I visit the valley! I love the views out over Granville ferry in the Fall. The history is so interesting and it's fun to see things that are actually quite old in Canada!

We spent a couple of hours walking and viewing Fort Anne. The cemetery is very old, maybe early 1700's. We enjoyed the Graveyard Tour the most in the evening with the lanterns. The history is very unusual. If you're wheelchair bound, you can see quite a bit but not the graveyard. It has an uneven ground. There is a small charge for the museum and for the Graveyard Tour.

Fascinating take in the tour of the cemetery at night to hear all the history of this fascinating place in Canada's' history

Didn't actually tour the building. Started the cemetery tour here and came back for photos in the morning. Wish we'd had more time to go through it properly.

Such a chequered history at this fort - not a lot left to see but earthworks. Descriptive boards are available to read as you walk around the outside of the fort. Many people were dog walking and enjoying family picnics the day we visited as there is no charge for wandering the grounds. There is a restored powder magazine that you can enter and there are cannon dotted around to give an idea of what it was like in the 18th century. The museum, which is housed in the Officer's Quarters is exceptionally interesting. We had a guide who explained in great detail the Fort Anne Heritage Tapestry. Without her help we would not have understood over 400 years of history which is incorporated in it.There is also a model of the Fort in 1710 and so much Acadian history on show.

Like walking back in time. Excellent interpretive signs. Museum closed Sunday and Monday. Wonderful views. Great perspectives.

The museum gives one a historic perspective on the remains of the fort, which consist of the museum building, lots of earthenworks and a few underground chambers, and cannons. A graveyard is located just outside the earth berms, and we are told that there is an excellent graveyard tour at 9:30 at night, but it was much too cold for us to try it given the clothing that we brought.

They have ample parking at the rear of the building and it is free to meander through the extensive grounds, which is also dog friendly. The museum portion incurs a small fee.None of the original fortress remains, except a couple of powder magazines, but the original shape and extent of the fortress is readily apparent as you walk the grounds. Numerous boards are located throughout the grounds and provide extensive historical information on the repeated battles between the British and French. The building, which was originally the officers quarters is the museum and is definitely worth the admission price to see the amazing tapestries in the first room.Excellent attraction, definitely worth a visit. Be aware you exit past the building onto a 1 way street down towards the lighthouse.

Very interesting and fun. The tour guide was quite the character and very knowledgeable about the people who lived there long ago.

Although the extant buildings are limited, the interpretive displays are good and give you a full background to the Anglo French struggles in the area. Well worth a visit.

This museum is another view of the history of the area. Well worth a visit. The interpreters try hard to be informative

You can wander the grounds of the Fort for free, but pay and go see the tapestry. It is marvelous. Signage is good, but the Parks guide spent lots of time with us. Each room is another culture of Annapolis Royal. The fort itself is pretty amazing. And, as with all of Annapolis Royal, great view, friendly people. Loved it.

So we did the candlelight walk through the graveyard and it was great. Not only is it entertaining, but you learn a lot of history. Tour is sponsored by local historic society. Fort Anne is located on a lovely piece of ground in Annapolis Royal. Suggest you walk around the site in the evening just before sunset; then come back later for the candlelight tour.
