We stopped here to sample some of their products and they were really good. I'm a big rum fan and their rums are tasty. Brought home a bottle of the Bluenose rum and I hope to somehow get my hands on a bottle of the 5-year aged.

We were told to visit this little distillery by a close friend who is a very accomplished, local chef. We are so glad he recommended it! The dark rum is delicious, as is the apple vodka. Make sure to stop in while in Lunenburg - Ironworks is a unique Nova Scotia gem.

Cool distillery - staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was a fun stop complete with a tasting session. The liqueurs are fantastic! Ended up taking home a bottle of the cranberry and rhubarb.

There were not any tours of the site the day we visited. The host/sales associate provided enlightening information and was friendly. The samples of the product were delicious. I had experienced the rum previously - excellent tasting and the main reason I wanted to taste more of the products. I especially enjoyed the cranberry liqueur and wife preferred the apple brandy. We also purchased a rum sampler pack as a gift for a favourite rum fan.

Wonderful wee distillery right in town. The staff was helpful and gave us a brief tour/explanation of their distilling process. The still (or liquor making contraption) was right in the main area and you could watch the vodka or rum being distilled. They also gave tastes of any of their many offerings, which included vodka, three rums, a brandy, and a number of fruit flavored liqueurs. A visit to this distillery is casual and does not require much time or money...unless you purchase some of their product. Thankfully for our wallets but unfortunately for our taste buds, the US only allows 1 liter per person across the boarder duty free so we only bought a gift pack of three small bottles.

Very nice micro-distillery where you can sample some of the goods. We ended buying some Vodka & blueberry liquor. One of a kind.

Popped in while visiting Lunenberg (a UNESCO World Heritage site). They have a great selection of things to sample; the Pear eau de vie was delicious. They have a small, well-presented shop that also sells sample-sizes that will fit a carry-on liquids allowance. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

A small distillery occupying an old marine blacksmith's shop in historic Lunenburg (the town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site). They have won awards (gold medals) for both their Brandy and their Rum; their other staple is Vodka. But what I was particularly impressed with was their fruit liqueurs. During our 2 visits, the flavours available were blueberry, strawberry and cranberry but because they are a hand-crafted, small batch distillery, they apparently like to experiment and have made flavours ranging from Artic Kiwi to Nova Scotian fir bud. They readily sample all the products they currently have for sale. Their prices are high but it is to be expected for great artisanal spirits. A bonus is the shop itself, the shop area is still much as it was when it was a marine blacksmith's shop, with the foundry right up front and the floors made of thick timbers. Also visible is their still, in all its glory. Really a must visit if you happen to be in historic Lunenburg.

We just missed the tour of the distillery, but the lady at the counter was informative and answered our questions and gave us samples. The liqueurs, brandy and vodka all use local ingredients ie. Annapolis valley apples, Nova Scotia cranberries, blueberries ect. The smell of the store is of old aging casks. The rustic interior of the place makes you want to stay drink, shop...wish they had a bistro! The bluenose rum made an excellent gift for our house sitter!

This young distillery is nicely located and is offering delicious products. This was my first experience visiting a distillery and I learnt a lot. I like the fact that the focus of the business is to produce innovative and delicious products instead of trying to play the branding card.

We didn't make the tour, but we did sample some of the many different types of spirits and liquors the produce. We did end up buying a couple of bottles. Great products.
