L. M. Montgomery lived here in the early part of the 20th century. Already a celebrated author when she arrived, the new wife of the Presbyterian Church minister, she wrote half of her books here. The Manse has been extensively restored in the past two years, and now reflects what Maud would most likely have seen in her daily life. Guided tours are available during the summer months, and at other times by arrangement. The Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario has weekly events in the summer too.
