serpent mounds park

Has been closed for years.......gate blocked and closed........buildings closed........looks very neglected and run down..

I don't believe the park will be opening again, as locals suggest. There do not appear to be any renovations going on at this time or since it closed several years ago. As it is part of Hiawatha and a First Nations site it may be due to its history as a sacred burial ground.

I grew up camping at Serpent Mounds both when it was a Provincial Park and when it was taken over by the First Nation Hiawathas. Absolutely love the park but am very dissappointed that it has been closed for many years for renovations. Understand that they are trying to upgrade the park but communication has been very poor as the site is not providing any timing as to when the park will reopen.Does anyone have any insight into when it will reopen???

Staff are great, friendly, the people there were excellent, it was a great park and will definitely be going back. this is what customer service and a weekend away is all about!!! top notch!!

My husband and i have visited serpent mounds park before and after we got married several times. we even took our first born there 2 years ago. He was 3 and he had a blast. we try to go at least once a year. we have stayed near the waterfront by the beach and also inside the park closer to the showers. both camping with a tent. Its beautiful in the mornings when you wake up to the sound of the water and the birds. the showers are better then average parks for sure.. washrooms are clean. they have a restaurant there just by the gate and we have enjoyed many a breakfasts and meals there for sure. we rent a boat from whispering pines up the street..the owners are Awsome ..so kind and friendly.I have many pictures and great memories of this park.its a definite got to try for camping. they also have a little museum and more hten one beach, firewood, fire starter, basic needs and keene is close by if you need something..
