Wonderful leisurely horseback ride through the forest. Friendly and interesting guide. Well-mannered horses too.

I have been sledding with Forest Trail dog sled tours in Maynooth for the last 14 years. I have had many European visitors and this is a "one of a kind" Canadian thing to do. Each time the experience gets better and better! Everyone has their own 4 dog team. Arly gives you instructions on how to give the dogs the correct commands and how to stop, go, gee, Ha, etc....... ( left, right) Arly is the Lead team. When there are a number of people going, she must take care of her own team, aswell as keep an eye on us ( the non experienced) and shout commands to us. Her job is a difficult one. Her dogs are fabulous. My husband had a team 2 years ago which consisted of 3 generations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This past January. We had yet another European visitor. SHe is 16 years old and had a BLAST ! I have videos of past expeiriences with Forest trail, I have numerous photos ( One even took second place in Dog, Dogs, Dogs Toronto! This was of Arlys dog Rocky,m who unfortunetly has passed since. I would TOTALLY recommend Forest trail for your one of a kind dog sled tour! Book soon for winter 2011! You WILL NOT REGRET IT! Sonja YeomansToronto

This tour was awful and dangerous. The owner Arley is very rude and ruined the tour for our family, my sister was screamed at the entire time and was fighting back tears half of the time. The dogs on my sister’s sled were fighting so one of her dogs had to be removed from the team. After the dog was removed from the team the owner was afraid of being bitten by the dog. The owner was constantly contradicting herself and she was very unorganized. I strongly recommend choosing a larger more reputable company. Please also be advised that the tour was about one hour in length. After the tour my family pooled our money together to cover my sister’s portion of the tour because we feel that no one should pay to be verbally abused the way she was. Please do not support this company!

Forest Trail Dogsled Tours - Maynooth, ONVery poor customer service/buisness organization. They do not use anything but Paypal or check so pretty dificult to make a deposite to hold the tour over the phone, I had to make a deposit at the bank into their account. Since it was near the end of the season if the tour was cancelled I would get a full refund. The day of the tour snow conditions were poor and the tour was cancelled. On our way out we stopped at the head of the street and called if we could pick up the refund before leaving the town, they did not have it. They said they would mail it. They never did after months of calling and emailing and their promise to send the refund they never did.Dog sleding is popular so book early, I only regret not heading the advise NOT to do buisness with Arly and Bruce at Forest trail dogsleding. I understanded other groups have had similar issues with this company. I took a chance so I'd be able to experience dog sledding before leaving Canada. The only good part was the cottage we were staying at knew of another tour and called to get us in. So my birthday trip was not ruined and had a blast sledding in Algonquin Park. I'm out $125.
