My least favorite park! Great camp sites, however the beach was terrible - The daybeach smelled so bad from all the seagulls and the camping beach was just ok. Thinking of swimming?? Well there is none at this park. The lake is shallow and has a tonne of reeds. If you are only camping for a night, this park is great. Other than camping there is nothing else to do. Drive the extra hour and go to Silent Lake

We stayed at site 185. The site itself is not entirely level, but it was flat. Very private compared to other parks we have stayed at in the past. The comfort stations were very close by. There was a trail running behind and beside our site leading to the comfort station, The beach was great - and although it was recommended to not swim due to high bacteria levels, there were lots of people in the water. It was raked in the morning and was very clean. We walked the trails around the campground, they were in great shape and again, were very clean. The store was good. It amazed me the prices were as good as they were. 4l of water for 2.50, Ice creams for 2.00. Firewood was decent, but we saw some outside the park that looked to be good as well.We found the vast majority of the other campers to be respectful and quiet. There were a few groups who were quite large, and even though I thought we were pretty far away from them, we could hear their version of "American Idol" pretty much word-for-word.. I'm sure other campers experienced the same. There was also a live band somewhere off the park who played into the night. We could hear them as well. All-in-all, it was a pretty good weekend. Beautiful weather, great campsite. We'll bring our bikes next time!

3 of us went camping at Emily and the positive things were that the site was large , in fact , too large, It was so open that we didnt like being that exposed. I guess that ended up not being so positive . The other positive was that it was very clean , including the bathrooms and the town close by was nice. the not so great things. We could easily see to the other sites as the trees and brush were not very full. Everyone around us were RVing so we felt a little out of place in our tents. The major two drawbacks were that we could hear the cars on the road throughout the night as it was only 30 feet away and surprisingly busy even int he middle of the night???? The beach seems to be man made and the sand is that dark brown sand and the beach is quite small. My friend attempted ot go into the water but found it murky and dirty so she go tout quickly. I won't be returning to this campground or recommending it to my friends. I would recommend it to RV families who want to meet up with other RV families and have a sense of community. Out of the 3 parks I have been to this year ( port Burwell and the Pinery) this ranks last.

We just returned from 4 days at Emily, camping at site 109. We chose the park because it was on route to a destination we planned on visiting later on our vacation, and we hadn't camped here yet. Our site was wonderful, very close to the beach (which was lovely for swimming and for children to play etc) and to the comfort stations, etc. The campground has 2 main beaches (both with great swimming on the Pigeon River), a camp store (well stocked enough to cover the one or two things we forgot and for wood, ice, worms) and lots of room to walk, bike and enjoy the outdoors. The comfort stations were clean and I used the laundry without any trouble (comes in handy after a big rain!). Laundry was all loonies (2 each for wash/dry and 1 for soap). I'm not sure the other campgrounds have sites as well spaced with great tree coverage and privacy, but if that is what you are looking for I would recommend the Hill campground. Great location, we may visit again.

There are only a few bad sites in Emily....the park itself used to have a nice nature trail but is gone now. Though only a very short drive there is 2 nice trails, one of them the Trans Canada Trail. As for swimming...its good enough to cool off and for the smaller children. Fishing is great....just about every fish can be caught in Pigeon.

Stayed at site 192 , Park was nice and well kept. The bathrooms were not too far but could use more showers. Park store was well equipped. The weather was not warm yet so I cannot comment on the beach etc but looked like it would be fun in the summer. All and all a nice stay and will return

This is a great Provincial Park to visit. It's located between Peterborough and Lindsay so there are lots of activities if you decide you need to venture outside of the park. The sites are well maintained and the facilities are clean. The staff are friendly and seem to genuinely enjoy thier jobs. Make sure you rent a canoe and venture out into the marsh. There used to be a boardwalk out to an island but it has not been maintained and is no longer accesable. It's a shame because it was a great place to watch the Osprey. All in all you won't go wrong with a stay here.
