the spa at pinestone resort

We stayed at Pinestone Resort on January, 12th, 2014. We were in Haliburton to go dogsledding on the 13th. This resort is very nice. The room was very clean, there is a lovely salt water pool and a sauna. There is also a restaurant and a pub. We chose to eat at the pub which was great and watch the hockey game at the same time. It was quiet due to the time of the year but very enjoyable. We would love to go back in the summer as there is a golf course. There is a lot of snow in this area so we could not see a lot of the grounds. LOL Would definitely stay here again. It is easy to find, right on the highway into Haliburton.

My husband (Dave) and I have been to the Pinestone on numerous occasions for a couples get away throughout the winter season. We have found the staff at the Pinestone to be amazing. We are always greeted with a smile and feel welcome by Jen at the front desk. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and pillows are good quality. Sure the rooms could do with a little fresh paint, but the bathrooms in the main lodge were clean, the towels were new and the shower had great pressure and very clean. We enjoy the Highlander the most of all, the new colors and comfortable seating is a welcome addition. Collin, Amanda and Nancy are always happy to see you and treated you like an old friend. We were lucky enough to experience the Saturday night Vinyl Culture, it was a blast they had every album you probably have owned or wanted too own. The music was great they had something for everyone. Great job Collin, I really like to new colors it feels very comfortable and warms the room up. The food is great in the Highlander a good variety for lunch and dinners, and it has a great price point. The breakfast is also great served by Kathy; she always has a story and a smile. Great staff at the Pinestone, it makes the little things that they could improve fade away. Cheers Jamie and Dave

Various services are offered here for reasonable prices. They don't have an RMT on site however if you give them some advance notice they can make arrangements to bring one in for you. Beautiful facilities and very relaxing atmosphere.

Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, fantastic food, great service and lovely premise.

This was the first time I treated myself to a spa experience, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The staff were nice and friendly. I got a manicure and eyebrow wax done and the results were good (although I have no comparison....) I would go there again.

The spa is very modern, and very relaxing. I had a full spa treatment, facial, massage.

Massage was just the best. All treatment were outstanding.

Bride, Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride/Groom and Nanna loved the personal touch with the make-up and hair-styling. Massages were also very relaxing

From the outside, the place looked promising. Unfortunately, the rest of the place needs some improvement. The reception can be more friendly and helpful. When we asked to change the dinner reservation time, we were told to talk to the restaurant ourselves. How much does it take to call the restaurant for a guest? I guess that is too much to expect. We got a room in the Fairway Room building. I thought it was next to the golf fairway. To our surprise, it is next to a parking lot that is not paved and has pot holes. Luckily it wasn't raining during our stay, otherwise it would muddy and a mess. The room we stayed in needed some repair. One of the lights did not work. The room needs more lights in the first place. Also not working was the bathroom exhaust fan. It failed to clear out the moisture after the shower, so I had to shave while trying to clean the fog off the mirror. The heat radiator below the sink did not work and is covered with rust or something brown. The hotel used to be part of the Delta chain. It lost that connection few years ago. The poor service and quality may be the reason for that change. We are not planning to be back.
