I found this a nice attraction for about an hour of the region of Owen Sound. It's a small museum but with a lot of history for the region. I did enjoy it and their is a small train set inside to take you around. The history of this region is more about the industry and shipping business from over a century ago. There is the rail aspect of it but at the same time that business is long gone from the region. Check it out and enjoy.

A small museum with interesting relics and facts of Owen Sound. Worth a visit which won,t take much time, because it,s really compact.

Definite drop by if you are in Owen sound, because it's attached to the tourist info centre, and the staff are very helpful. At first I drove pass it to the big building behind, because the building is just too small for a museum... Though I can't rate this as a museum, but it is a very interesting collection of historic items and models that tells the story of this area. I particularly like the scuba diving equipment, being a diver myself.. Cannot imagine wearing those crazy things...Drop by for the 2 for 1 combo and a very clean bathroom :)

The Marine Rail Museum is located beside the harbour in an old rail station. The Owen Sound Visitor Centre is co-located in the same building. The museum is small but contains interesting artifacts and entrance is by donation. It's a great location, very scenic, and there is a large parking lot and picnic tables nearby.

My wife and I had the occasion to visit the Museum while doing some family research on an ancestor killed in a train collision at Murray's Cut. Mindy was able to provide a photo of the accident, and made the effort to locate Murray's Cut for us.The building shares space with the tourism office, and we can't highly enough of the young lady who answered all our questions.Thank you, all!

It was difficult to read the posts as they were high on the walls. Many shipwrecks mentioned. We had hoped for a better experience than we had.

Went along to see this, but was put off by the size. Needs more exhibits, there is ample space outdoors but not used

The museum was small but does a great job telling about the history of the train, lake boats and industry in Owen Sound.
