This was so much fun. The track is challenging in a gorgeous environment. Thanks to the instructors for all their help and tips throughout the day. I feel I have improved my skills a lot in just one day. Will go again soon!

Many people have a bucket list item related to racing a car on a track at speed. CMP is a great track to check off that bucket list item . The track is very challenging to learn and even harder to master. The Entrack instructors are very patient and observant - they adjust their teaching style to work with your personal learning style. The track is quite complex so I was only comfortable learning one or two things at a time while also trying to memorize the track. Once I was competent (safe might be a better word) with those one or two things then the instructor moved on to other areas of improvement (there were lots). You can use your own car, or rent a Mustang prepared for racing (an automatic is available and a good choice for your first time on track since you will have a lot to learn and thinking about shifting will cause problems). As long as you keep your ego in check and follow instructions there is little danger (NOTE: little does not equal none) of an "off". Furthermore, I would strongly suggest leaving the electronic nannies ON (stability control, anti-lock brakes, etc). The rental mustangs are expensive but when I asked the staff about the pricing they explained that the high cost has to cover wear, and tear, brakes, engine rebuilds, gas, etc...this was clearly demonstrated when one of the drivers in my group using a rented Mustang was obviously not used to driving a manual and was grinding gears every time he got in the car. Off-track the facilities are excellent and far better than any other track in Canada. There is a club house with 3rd floor balcony, and two side buildings that also provide great views of the track. If you plan to stay for the weekend suites are also available (convenient but pricey). The biggest drawbacks to Calabogie are:1. Limited viewing areas: The balconies are very nice but as a spectator I would love to see that action in some of the more difficult turns. Unfortunately, there is no way to get out to these remote areas of the track (as opposed to Mosport that has trails/gravel roads to every corner of the track).2. Calabogie township: The dining options are limited. This is not a drawback to the Calabogie racetrack facility but it takes away from the overall experience when compared to Tremblant, or Watkins Glen.3. Driving on a racetrack is very addictive!!4. My wife attended the day with me and loves this new hobby. She is also addicted.

CMSP is a great facility for lapping days etc. Unfortunately the rest of the area, although beautiful scenery is seriously lacking in almost any kind of other amenities. This is backwoods Ontario at its best (worst). Take a packed lunch if you want to eat anything reasonably edible.

Fantastic fun for people that enjoy auto sports. A total of 45 mins behind the wheel of a race prepared Mustang. After a short briefing you set off around the track at a brisk speed behind the instructor/pace car. You're solo and speed is increased according to ability. Exhilarating!!

The track was awesome to say the least. very complex and yet very simple to drive. Safety first, they wont let you go nuts on the track, that's for sure, but an experienced driver can if licensed to do so.Definitely something one must try at least once in their life.

I've been to this track 3 times over the past 5 years with my local driving club and it's been great every time. The paddock area is really nice and they seem to always be building and improving the grounds. The track is a blast, lots of turns and tricky sections to learn, the little that I interacted with the staff was positive and I'm already looking forward to coming back next year (hopefully). It would be nice if the track had Wifi and a small cafe for food, other than that I don't have any complaints.
