If you thought you were in paradise , well think again ! We were going to Bluebeard's Castle and ended up there by mistake. And what a mistake !!!!

The resort was overall clean and on a gorgeous private beach. The pool bar staff is wonderful and the drinks are cheap and delicious! Our room was pretty updated and clean with full kitchen amenities. We were also basically on the water with a fantastic view from our patio. But I don't think there is a bad view from any room as the entire resort sits on its own private beach.Cons: -Needs some updating in the common areas. The beach chairs do not stay in the position you put them in which was annoying. -BRING BUG SPRAY!!! The "noseeums" were a problem at sunset. But this isn't just Bluebeards, it's all of St Thomas. - The walls of the units are VERY thin. We were awoken every night by the people upstairs either moving furniture around or dropping things. Very annoying. Will ask for a top unit in the future, but all the studios are bottom floor so probably not possible.-The beach towels are very small, would bring our own in the future. -The Restaurant: While the one night we ate there the food by chef Leon was fantastic, the entire restaurant as a whole is not very appealing. It would really be worth putting some money into to update. -The location of Bluebeards is difficult because you cannot walk to ANYTHING outside of the resort. This means you either have to rent a car for the week (at a rate of $70 per day and up) or constantly take taxi's everywhere. It was an additional cost we were not prepared for as we are used to staying places where you can walk into town for dinner.-As a couple barely in our 30's we felt extremely out of place amongst the mostly senior citizen aged guests. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, we just did not know this going in.-We were told upon arrival that we would have something brought to our room to celebrate our anniversary but never received it.Overall we had a nice week, but if we go back to St Thomas we would stay at a place with more amenities.

If I want a relaxing day on the beach this is my favorite!! The beach is at a resort but anyone can go...chairs, hammocks, pool, pool bar with stools in the water! , bathrooms, gift shop......I love spending a sunday afternoon at this beach!!!!

We loved its beauty! The hotel has hammocks and lots of chairs to enjoy the beach. There are rocks at the right end of the beach and we heard the snorkeling was good there.

My wife and I have been going to BBC for a week or 2 for 10 years now. We purchased a 1 BR unit in 2005, having only seen the club for 1/2 hour..... At that time it was a little rough around the edges, but that began to change about 5 years ago with a new, energetic board of directors.... Wonderful things started to happen. Units were all updated dramatically over a 2 year period. The pool had extensive work done to it, correcting years of 1/2 measures that had patched it...... Pool deck and walkways were done over in natural stone. A full service dive shop opened 4 years ago. They rent snorkeling gear, kayaks & beach toys.... They offer a free scuba "try me"...... After begging my bride for 40 years to try it, on her own, she did it, got certified and has been my dive buddy for 2 years now........ The beach club is truly a little piece of paradise for us. We love it because it is small and quiet.... The beach is spectacular and beautiful..... Every week 3 to 6 newly weds use the natural beauty as back drops for their wedding pictures. Amenities: wonderful pool with a great pool bar where you can get your favorite libation or an inexpensive lunch..... Friendship and laughter is constant.... The Limetree Bistro is a newer addition...... The chef is from The Ritz..... The front of the house has been running on island time, but constantly trying to improve.... Wonderful food, fair prices. The family who run it are wonderful, beautiful people who take the time to address us by name.... We got home 2 days ago after a 2 week stay. It was our best vacation in years.....

Good accommodations, spacious grounds, great beach and pool, great pool bar, barbeque facilities, very well maintained. Restaurant, which is privately operated, unfortunately, is a disaster, but you can get great sandwiches at the pool bar which is also privately operated but by a different vendor .

Secluded beach, no sea urchins, quiet and relaxing! The resort is very accommodating and the bar is a blast!

We really liked the location and the rooms were nice. For the price it was a nice stay. The beach area is great and the new food place called the Beach Bistro was very good. There is also laundry facilities if you need them. There is no formal room service, however, you can get fresh towels and sheets if you need them.

This beach has an absolutely beautiful view. I do believe the maintenance of the surrounding landscape could be improved, but I would definitely visit again. We had good snorkeling there also.

My husband and I love Bluebeards. It's not a hugh resort, it'd smaller and set on 12 acres and it's peaceful and quiet back there. Nice pool and it's nice how everyone hangs out at the pool bar chatting. You really get to know the people around you. It's got a beautiful beach and we snorkle right there. There's hamcocks to chill out on. A barbecue area if you want to cook. The only thing is as timeshare owners, especially when you work so hard for your timeshare, when your told after years of waiting to get the rooms redone, and they finally do and you go back and see them for the first time you expect to walk in a see a wow factor. Well, the rooms look nice but the stucco ceilings in the shower, over the vanity are cracked and bubbling like they were never done, the doors and walls are dirty, I wonder if the doors were ever replaced, even the hinges on the bathroom door were rusty, valances were stained. I felt the work was shabby not up to par. When you pay that kind of money for your timeshare and maintence fees, you expect better workmanship. They still don't have a restraunt and they don't have Gina and Bob cooking a homemade breakfest anymore. Really, they had to take them away. I hope they are still working on things. As a owner I'm worried that Bluebeards will get pushed aside for their new place, Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville.`

We snorkled swam and slept on the beach! We watched the cruise ships go by, the dive boats anchor off the beach and snorkeled both ends of the beach. We snuck under the shelters to stay dry when it showered during our stay. Great day in St Thomas.

Somehow our timeshare mixed up the dates and had us scheduled to arrive a week later. No fun to discover when you travel that far! Even so, the staff was wonderful and they fixed the situation. Our room was very nice and steps from the beach with an incredible view. The resort was quiet and tranquil, despite it being very full, which was great also. The bar makes fantastic drinks; I particularly liked the Dirty Monkey! My only critique is that it seems a little older and showing little signs of disrepair that make it feel less clean. But we had a great time overall and enjoyed our stay very much!
