Not only was the house beautiful (if you admire old architecture) and the items inside we're of museum quality. Our 17 year old son loved the unfit tour. FUN,FUN, FUN!!The staff did an excellent job telling the story of Rose Hall and why it is haunted, but they truly did spook us and made us laugh..over and over again.I would highly recommend this tour...... If you dare to go

Went on this as a day trip whilst our cruise liner was in Montego Bay. Didn't fancy being at large in Jamaica - it looks crime ridden and was intimidating - so we opted for a half day coach tour. The journey was a bit slow as traffic is bad in Montego Bay, but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. the setting was lovely and the house has a great story of multiple murder. we tried Annies Witches brew, which is basically strong rum with a splash of fruit juice. the tour guide was good and made it interesting. We also had some shopping time as a gated centre nearby. Felt safe throughout - which I am sure I would not have done of we were anywhere else in this apalling country - such a contrast to the central American ports we went to as part of the trip - the people there were so friendly - so m6y advice is avoid Jamaica and go to central America instead - but if you do find your self in Jamaica - go for a guided trip to a gated site.

We went to the night tour our last night. Beautiful place and interesting story of Annie Palmer. Wished we could have taken pictures. The evening tour is a little like going to a haunted house, but I had a blast.

Great views, wonderful old (restored) home with fascinating history and a lovely, affordable gift shop. Souvenier photos a great deal and save time for a drink in the dungeon!

Wonderful side trip with lots of local history. Really enjoyed it and the gal who guided us was fantastic.

We had a wonderful tour of this fascinating plantation, only 4 of us so we had a chance to ask questions and chat with the tour guide, it was a great opportunity to gain some insight into the history and detail of the plantation society and slavery in JA. The restored building and grounds are gorgeous, and the legend of the white witch is captivating. We were also charmed by resident cats watching a mongoose slink around the garden bushes. Recommend a visit.

Four of us went on the evening Bewitched tour and had a great time. We laughed at the scary noises and the attempts to scare us. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history and friendly. The tour was a great way to mix it up and capture a little bit of Jamaican history.

The information was very good, when we could hear her. The night tour, had over 25 people, we all couldn't fit in many of the rooms at the same time. They need to cut down on the tour group sizes, instead of 2 or 3 guides, make 2 or 3 smaller groups. Having everyone in the room would have IMO improved the experience.

My daughter and her mother-in-law and I took the guided tour of the Great House which was given by a lovely Jamaican woman in period costume. The tour lasted about a half hour and was topped off by a Johnny Cash song sung by the guide. Apparently Johnny was an acquaintance of the current owners and had visited the Great House on occasion. The rooms were furnished with period furnishings and the story of Annie, the last mistress of the house, was interesting and informative. We got to walk around the house and grounds all alone for about an hour after the tour was completed. Wonderful! A must see place in Jamaica.

Loved the location - the tropical flowers - trade winds - servers and people who assisted us - Disliked the long walks, getting lost, the map that didn't tell us what the building number was, the steps that weren't colored darker so we knew there was a step, bars ot open 24/7, no room service menu in the room but the positives far outweighed the items that could be changed to make the experience better.

This is one of the many great houses in Jamaica but the story behind this one is very interesting and scary

Despite the fact that the interior furniture is not original to the house we found the visit worthwhile. It does not take much imagination to have an impression what it must have been a couple of centuries ago.

Learning about the plantation history was great. I loved how the tour guide let us go through at a slower pace, we didn't go with a tour group. Seeing all the lush rooms and learning about some of the wicked people who lived in the Great House was fun. The grounds are very well kept, the ocean is a bit down the hill, but you still have a wonderful view. Would like to have done both a day and night tour, as that seemed more scary.

The Rose Hall Great House is an absolutely beautiful estate that features both a day tour and a nighttime ghost tour of the house. It's hard to say whether the tales of Annie Palmer, aka the White Witch, are true or simply an elaborate legend, but a trip to the Great House is entertaining nonetheless. The interior of the house is breathtaking and the ghost tour allows you to explore the house and have some laughs and cheap thrills along the way. If you find yourself looking for a way to kill some time while in the Montego Bay Area, a trip to the Rose Hall Great House isn't a bad option.

Rose Hall is indeed a historical Great House that fell into disrepair and was renovated in the 1960's thanks to, I believe, the Rockefeller Foundation. The story of Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall is not. The story comes from the 1929 novel White Witch of Rose Hall by H.G. deLisser. That said, it is a great example of a typical Jamaican great house from the days of slavery when sugar was king and sending prodigious amounts of money to the absentee owners in England. Now that I have been such a bummer, the view from the house of the Caribbean is awesome. BTW, it has been many years since I visited Rose Hall.
