Thank you Louie for an awesome tour of the rainforest. This man really knows his stuff. His appreciation and passion for what Puerto Rico has to offer is over the top! I would definitely recommend him as a tour guide on your visit to the rain forest.

Did the El Yunque half day tour and would highly recommend it for people staying in Old San Juan who want to experience the Puerto Rico rainforest. Very knowledgable guide, includes a hike that takes about a hour total and half way through you get to a waterfall that you can swim in. Very fun experience.

Hands down, one of the best tours I have ever been on. If you ever travel to Puerto Rico, make sure you visit El Yunque and get a tour by Louie himself. This man is amazing and I had an awesome time in his tour, unforgettable moment. To my new friend Louie, thank you!! -Jocy

Add us to the list of happy campers who have toured the El Yunque rainforest with Luis ("Louie"). Luis is efficient, friendly, KNOWLEDGEABLE and a total pro. We had a wonderful time, learned a lot and are convinced that we saw more than we'd have ever seen on our own; plus we didn't have to drive the narrow, winding roads in the park, etc. The swim in the waterfall was good fun and the hike taking us there and back was very pleasant. Our stop at the lunch stand was a bonus "cultural" experience in deep-fried local delights (piononos and Puerto Rican tacos) as well as coconut water right from the coconut which the kitchen staff then cut open for me and pried out of the shell for us to eat.Besides regaling us with history of Puerto Rico, Luis was glad to engage in discussion about Puerto Rico's historic and current economic and political situations as well as the best places to eat in Old San Juan. This tour was among the best we have ever taken and was excellent value for money. If you want a great day trip, Call Luis!

Go on any tour Louie offers and I can guarantee you will have a great time and a wonderful remembrance. First, he is a great guy and fun to be around. Second, you will learn a lot about not only Puerto Rico' s history but so much cultural areas. I know it was all good when my 19 year old daughter was so excited afterwards and is planning to come back and take her older sister. My only advice is to relax on the kayaking in the dark mangroves because it is safe but it is a little crazy so just go with the flow sorta speak. If you go on a tour, choose Louie, he is the best.

My husband and I attended a destination wedding in San Juan. Wanting to do a few things on our own, we went on a tour of El Yunque with Louie. It was a great decision because the tour was fantastic. Louie is extremely knowledgeable about all things Puerto Rico and El Yunque is no exception. He has a great appreciation of the forest, which helped all of us appreciate it more. I would definitely recommend a tour with Louie; you will be glad you did!

The rain forest tour with Louie is pretty good. It was great that he picks you up at your hotel as most other tour operators won't do that. He has a lot of knowledge about Puerto Rico and is a very friendly man. Please be advised: If you decide to hike to La Mina Falls through the rain forest you must be in very good to excellent physical condition. If you have bad hips, knees, feet, trouble walking for any reason or have asthma or other breathing conditions DO NOT take the hike. You can still take the rest of Louie's tour. The hike is grueling, 45 degree slopes to climb at times over cobble stone walks made for one person. I don't know what trail other people were on that said people were doing the hike barefoot, not on this hike!! Please wear tennis shoes, you'll need traction to get up the hills. One disappointment was NO FREE BOTTLE OF WATER. You had to buy it yourself after the hike. This would be most appreciated after the hike. I also felt the tour was a little bit over priced, by maybe $5.00-$6.00 dollars.

Our group of 30 spent the day in San Juan while on a cruise. I saw the reviews of Louis' VIP tours and gave him a try. We all had an amazing day. Picked up at the ship and taken to the rain forest for a beautiful hike. Louis was extremely informative and made sure it was a day to remember. He was very good with our children and took us to various areas in the park to explain things and show us around. I'm a travel agent and this is one of the best excursions we've been on. Thanks Louis for everything, we will be back!!!

The tour guide comes to pick you up at your hotel and drops you off after it is done. He also stops for snacks at a little place on the way back from the hike. The food there was delicious and cheap! It was one of the best meals I had in Puerto Rico! Louie made the tour of El Yunque interesting and fun! I had a blast exploring with him and the small group he took to the rainforest. It is a beautiful place with a waterfall you can swim in (if you want to). Louie is very knowledgeable of Puerto Rico and its history and it is definitely a master of his trade. I would highly recommend anyone going on a tour of El Yunque to choose Louie!

Booked with Louie's Tours based on the reviews in TripAdvisor. This is an interesting tour of the rainforest. The size appears to be limited to eight which is just the right size. Louie is very informed and easily communicated much information about the area and sights. Louis gave us a tour of the main forest headquarters then drove us to the cement pathway that goes thru one area of the forest where the falls are located. The pathway is fairly narrow and does not allow for what you would consider a "guided tour" and is more or less a walk on your own at your own pace. Luckily the pathway was not crowded. We did not go into the falls, as it was the main attraction and was somewhat crowded and look slippery. Good luck if you get hurt. I would recommend the tour. Larry & Kelly, Georgetown, Texas

Louie's tour was really great. Louie himself was very responsive to our pre-trip questions and was a very knowledgeable tour guide that gave us more than history, but a feeling for Puerto Rico's culture, people and politics. He chose a delicious local restaurant for lunch that was unexpected from the more tourist places. The rainforest itself was very crowded (no Louie's fault of course) and while nice, really not sure it was worth the overall costs. We also loved the kayaking experience at night, the tour guides and company Louie arranged were great and very informative and made the experience really fun. The bio luminescence portion of the kayak adventure was a bit anti climatic as the entire bay doesn't glow, only when you move your hands or stimulate the water in some way, and the part where you simply stay on the bay rather than kayak was very brief. But kayaking at night was certainly an experience and still worthwhile! Overall, Louie was excellent, but what we saw was meh (I'd give it 3.5 stars out of 5).
