We looked forward to hiking and this stop was very helpful in planning and we had the information man Jesus tell us about all of the trails. He was very nice to my daughter and they had a a lot of fun looking at the exhibits.

Alex our tour guide walked us through the facility, pointing out various flora and fauna. He let us wander around at our leisure and we had plenty of time to look at the displays, visit the gift shop and use the restrooms. The center is very well done. Definitely a must see when in the rainforest.

A wonderful welcoming center to the forest. Knowledgable staff and beautiful exhibits. Be careful on the road coming in.

It has great displays about animals and insects, and many beautiful samples of the plant species to be seen. Bathroom facilities are available.

We were there on a tour and were given 40 minutes which included the time to hit restrooms. That was simply not enough time, but we did enjoy the center and half of the looped trail. There is so much wildlife there, but it takes a good eye to spot the critters. I know we missed a lot. The center itself has demonstrations of things that children would find interesting and is very well-built. It also has a very nice gift shop. You don't have to stick with a tour guide, but it would probably add to the learning experience. Although the Center was wheelchair access, the trail was not. It was a typical dirt and rock trail through the forest. Still, I think someone in a wheelchair or walker could find enjoyment around the Center's facility.

While we didn't think the 17 minute film was that impressive, overall, the visitor's center is worth browsing around. The exhibits and explanations are worth taking your time to look through. They do have a free map that is very helpful in determining what you want to see, where to park, how long the hikes are, etc.Your US National Parks Pass is valid for free entry, so take it with you. Lots of parking and one easy walk from the Visitor's Center. Beautiful space around it!

Well this is a rain forest and of course it rains! But that is not why you Need a towel and swimwear, it's because at nearly 3/4 of the way in you can jump into a little pond under the waterfall. Now, there's lots of slippery and uneven rocks as you make your way to the pond, but its a good cold dunk once you're in. As for the rainforest, you wont see any wild animals so don't think you'll see monkeys flying from trees or anything. It is just very humid, some steep steps for those that have a hard time walking it wouldn't be fun. Now, if you have forgotten your insect reppellent there's a small store at the top of the trail that sells a little squirt bottle for $4.00. We actually didn't need it as our tour guide explained that most misquitos are eaten by the birds so it is rare that anyone gets bitten. Wish he told us BEFORE we bought the bottle. All in all, a good casual experience.

The ranger or whoever was manning the gate tried to charge us in a free day (MLK day). Then the ranger in the station didn't suggest anything to do and just gave us a map. Other than a few info posters there are a bunch of locals selling overpriced handicrafts. I would skip this one.

Good first stop on a trip to El Yunque. The movie is not strictly necessary but something to watch if you're interested in the history of how they reclaimed the rainforest. Lovely architecture and very helpful guide who suggested routes for visiting. Had an enjoyable and inexpensive lunch at the café, used the clean and convenient restrooms, enjoyed the local crafts display and gift shop (but did not buy anything). If you enter going up, you can stop back in on the way down for free by showing your ticket at the gate - good rest room break before hitting the bumpy road.

This is the visitor's center for the rain forest. It is built in a beautiful setting of trees and foliage and blends in well with the surroundings. Beautiful landscaping with nature displays, gift shop and small hiking trail.

The gentleman explaining El Yunque, did a fantastic job explaining the rainforest and entertaining us.

Very nice brick entrance decor into the information center... Nice bridges to walk over above and beside the rainforest plants.. and beautiful flowers.. about a 20 minute informative video, and gift shop and restroom facilities.

Although others complained of the fee charged to visit, with a US Senior Parks Pass, four adults and four children were all admitted free. They have informative exhibits and an enjoyable film. We made a donation to help the work they are doing.
