A typical Caribbean beach but differentiated by the best floating small bar ever seen! Easy to reach by taxi [or even local bus]:

Beautiful beach with palm trees, white sand and turquoise water. No sunbeds but plenty of trees for shade and great swimming. Beach bar/cafe/restaurant with good choice at reasonable prices.

Great beach for swimming and watching yachts. Avoid the restaurant at the East end. Exceptionally slow service for mediocre food. New place at the west end, looks nice

it's a good place to go with kids, close to english Harbour, therefore easly reacheable with buses (not an easy thing in antigua!!!)

This beach is a lovely broad bay of good sand with a gently sloping shore line. It is a short walk away from Falmouth Harbour and a little bit further from English Harbour. It is a public beach, so anyone can use it and there is good road access for cars.

Swimming area cordoned off with shark netting. But beach slopes steeply into water. There are no changing facilities nor showers. Sand gets everywhere. Beach bar at one end is OK but sells limited range.

Great mix of tourists and locals. Catherine's is the place for lunch or sunset cocktail. Short walk to Antigua Yacht Club

Water was fairly deep. Beach was not crowded. I was only there for 40 minutes and didn't look for any food or drinks

Pigeon Beach is close to Falmouth Harbor ~ walkable in my book.It was not too populated which made it even more special. The other wonderful item about Pigeon Beach is stumbling upon Catherines Cafe! When the time comes, just walk on up for lunch, drinks, whatever and continue to enjoy Pigeon Beach as the sun sets!

Beauty view across the harbour, sunset was spectacular with Montserrat in the distance and lots of locals around giving it a more authentic feel.

Great beach....good people watching, fun watching the boats come and go, plenty of shade and a restaurant at the end....

Lovely sandy beach very close to our hotel. Great clean waters. Two restaurants on the beach. One a bit up-market.

On our first early morning visit to this beach we had it all to ourself. It is gorgeous. The afternoons are more crowded. It has a wonderful swimming area and was surprisingly warm for January. There is shade available under the Sea Grape trees and covered table areas.

As we discovered, Antigua was not as impressive on the beach front as some other islands. Pigeon Point was about a 10-15 minute walk from our hotel (Yacht marina resort -see separate review) and some of that is uphill so be aware of this although it was not an issue for our group. The beach has beautiful plants and trees which give it a natural feel and the lack of any sunbeds or facilities adds to its charm. We only ate at the beach bar rather than the formal restaurant and unless the ladies with the food stall or rotis are around that is the only choice so perhaps be advised to bring refreshments etc with you.Weekends are busier with local families of all nationalities-there is a real mix on the island- and yes there are plenty of kids so if you want absolute peace and quiet this may not be your best bet on a weekend. We drove around the island and saw a few other public beaches but no one of them were as nice as this one. Watching the super yachts come in and out of the harbour adds to the appeal. We managed to spend a day at Carlisle Bay beach which was beautiful. It's accessible by rental car and rather than finding the public track to the beach, the gate staff at the resort let us park at the hotel as we had lunch in one of their restaurants.I would highly recommend Carlisle bay as it is very much a quintessential Caribbean beach (white sand and coconut palms). We found the south coast to be generally much more attractive than the North although we passed the gates of some of the large resorts on the North without seeing the beaches so can't compare.

The proximity to the hotel with transportation if needed and the views were fantastic. It was great with enough shade if needed.
